The captcha system in the sponsorship form seems to be unreliable, and I had to attempt submitting the form around 10 times before it evaluated as a valid captcha:

I would recommend useing Google ReCaptcha (https://www.google.com/recaptcha). It takes less than 30 minutes to implement, and is a much more pleasant user experience.
