20s Will Not Power On Anymore
Purchased the Sena 20S back in March of this year as a dual pack for me and a friend. Unit has worked very well up until now. The unit was not used for the last half of April and all of May - 40 days or so and had died. Unit had obviously lost all previous charge and needed to be recharged. I used the same micro USB charger cable that I had been using the entire time (OEM SENA cable - came with the kit) in my home laptop (Dell Inspiron). The laptop previously had zero issues recognizing the device and charging it. The same laptop was used to set up Device Manager and initialize my 20s...
Now when I go to plug up in my laptop, the device is not recognized yet the LED indicator is red and then turns to blue after a few minutes. I tried using all three(3) USB ports available and still the same thing, no recognition where previously it would be picked up immediately, but LED indicator showing red then blue. Checked my USB connectors and they are all 3.0 ports. I've heard that these Sena units are supposedly only working with 2.0 ports. Is that true? Doesn't make sense since the 3.0 ports on the laptop had previously been picking up the unit and charging it as well but now they do not...
I tried using the USB ports(3.0) on my work computer and the same thing is happening. Basically, the unit itself WILL NOT power on. When plugged in to my home laptop and the work desktop, the units charging LED will be red at first then change to blue - indicating a full charge. So I go to turn the unit on and get nothing. I've tried turning it on every way I know of, with it plugged up via micro USB and also unplugged. Nothing...
I used a paperclip to push the rest button on the back side of the unit and upon doing so, the LED indicator turns off. I cannot get the unit to power on after doing this, whether it's connected to the laptop/desktop via USB or not. I've read that the unit must be powered on first before pushing the rest button but I cannot get the unit to power on AT ALL - even when the LED indicator is showing blue...
I'll try using the OEM Sena AC adapter charging cable when I return home tonight to see if that does anything. I'm not confident that it will though, because again - the LED indicator is red at first but then turns blue. Blue means that the unit is fully charged, does it not? If not, then blue means that the unit is at least charged to a point where it should power on, am I wrong?
Someone please chime in with any insight or address something I may have missed. Riding season is in full swing and I'd like to be able to utilize my $200 investment again. Thanks guys,

I've recently been experiencing issues with my pair of SENA 20S unit as well concerning charging, holding charges, false indicators (red vs. blue) illumination pattern of lights. I just sent a contact email for a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization). You can find the link under "Warranty" under "Support". I hope that these issues are resolved in a timely manner and we are able to return to enjoying the freedom of the road while being connected as we have enjoyed previously.

UPDATE - I finally got the unit to power on. I have no idea how or why it decided to power up this time but it's on and continues to turn on each time I attempt it. I left it connected to an Apple Iphone wall charger adapter / the micro USB cable over night and tried to power it on the next morning with success. So that's good news...
Now my issue is that my home laptop and my work desktop won't recognize the unit when it's plugged in via the micro USB. My dilemma there is that I cannot get the unit to be picked up by Device Manager to update the the latest firmware. My first instinct is to swap the micro USB cable that I had been using this whole time with another one and hopefully that's all it is. Of course I don't have a spare laying around right now and will have to pick one up after work today to see if that's the issue. The micro USB cable physically looks to be in great, usable condition. There are no cuts or exposed wires and both ends and connectors look perfect. The cable gave me no prior indication that it could be damaged and was charging the unit just fine before now. Anyway...
This has all been just a real inconvenience for me...nothing more. I'm not going to fault Sena for what's happened, this is all just a matter of trial and error and randomness with the unit all the sudden not wanting to power up and then out of the blue, it does. Now with the micro USB cable, just more icing on the cake. I hope this information is useful to others who may be experiencing the same problem or something related. I'll update this with more as it comes...
