Handlebar remote wakes-up when headset turns on.
I find using the handlebar remote very useful, except everytime I ride, I have to press the joystick to activate the remote control. I don't turn the remote off since the battery life is so efficient.
A much more eloquent solution is to have it connect (once they've been already been paired prior) to the headset when the headset is turned on, just like other Bluetooth devices (iPhone etc).

That’s a damn fine idea, the battery life is totally long enough to support being in a standby mode

No response from SENA just yet. I wonder if having to check for a remote will lengthen the boot time.
