50s Mesh not working when using android auto

Riding a Honda 2022 Africa Twin, Adventure Sports with android auto connected to my Galaxy S20 FE phone via USB cable. 

Sena 50s is connected to AT via Bluetooth.  

Mesh will NOT work with the above configuration.  

When I go to the phone, it shows it is connected to the Honda AT.  If I try to connect the 50s to the phone so I can manage the headset via the app, the connection fails.  

If I turn off Bluetooth, connect the phone via cable, the connection automatically turns on Bluetooth.  As a result, the phone is connected via Bluetooth AND usb cable to the AT.

Deleting the Bluetooth AT connection in the phone, results in NO audio coming to the headset.

My choice is to manage everything via the phone and not use android auto.

or.

Use android auto, without being able to use Mesh.  

Open to suggestions.  I would like to use android auto, and have Mesh work at the same time.

  Deleted everything.  Started over.  Same result.

  Deleted everything from Honda (headset, phone.)  Deleted everything from phone (honda AT, headset).  Then deleted everything from Honda (headset, phone.)

  started AT, connected AT to Sena headset then hooked up phone via USB cable to AT.  Everything seems to be working now.  

  If headset is linked to phone when you link to AT it seems like things get buggy.
