Sena R1 Cycling Helmet - Group Disconnecting
Have had the helmets for over 2 years - recently on group rides with 3-4 connected - it just disconnects 2 helmets or all 4. This morning with 3 people riding close together, it disconnected 3 times on a 6.5 mile bike ride. What is going on? We have the latest firmware.

Hey Kara,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been experiencing difficulties with the connection.
I've had some experience with similar issues, and I've found that resetting the device pairing and then re-pairing it can sometimes solve the problem. You might want to give that a try.
When the Bluetooth system is not working properly, you can easily reset
the unit:
1. Locate the Pinhole Fault Reset Button below Sena logo at the back
side of the helmet.
2. Gently insert a paper clip into the hole and press and Pinhole Fault
Reset Button with light pressure.3. The Bluetooth system will shut down.
I would do this for all sena R2 helmets that are experiencing this.
Next, I would recommend pairing each device one by one to isolate any connection problems. This will help you identify if there's a specific device that requires further troubleshooting.
Please keep me updated on your findings.
Cheers,

Follow up - the fault reset has improved the dropped group connection so far. On our last ride, we only had to restart it once. The trees and power lines seem to be created more interference than they did in the past, but we're managing. Thanks for your help!

Hello,
First try with four R1 helmets yesterday. Within a five hour trip, we had to restart the helmets ten times. First connection stayed for nearly one hour, sometimes disconnected after minutes. No reconnect (with "+" and "-") possible, a reboot was needed.
We´ll try to disable bluetooth on our mibile phones next time. Any other ideas?

Try using the pinhole reset using paper clip as described above. Its not perfect but helps a little
