10R Device Recognition Issue

Searched but have not found an answer for this issue...

I'm trying to update my 10r firmware.  It's been awhile.  Can't get past the device recognition failure message.  I've done everything that is shown to me.  Hold the "-" button for 5 seconds then select "Next".  Recognition failure message.

Has anyone been able to get this to work?  I can't change anything, settings or firmware until this works.

  I am having the same issue with my Sena 10R.  I watched a youtube video which said you needed the SENA branded micro USB cable.  I purchased the cable online because I could not find the original box, I too followed the instructions listed: 

  1. Power off your product and connect it to your PC using the USB Data Cable.
  2. Follow the instruction below that matches with your Sena product.

  - Leave it powered off.

  - Hold down the [-] Button for more than 5 seconds.

  • 10U, 10R, ACS10, 10Upad

  I even held the [-] button without releasing it until I heard the connect sound on my laptop, then selected "Next".

  BUT still received the  "Recognition failure" message.  Without any firmware update, I cannot access the SENA app on my phone. I guess SENA does not support the 10R model anymore.
