50C Battery Life
Has anyone else got problems with battery life? This thing is almost useless for video. It's fine when I just use Mesh or Bluetooth etc. But video is lacking. Kind of defeats to object of having it, I only use it like I do my 50R.
If I use video without an external battery attached, it only lasts 20mins from a full charge and then switches off the camera. It's hardly worth turning it on, in fact I don't bother.
Unless there's something i'm doing wrong. Any advice to tips would be appreciated.

I do not own a Sena 50C, I know just a friend which is using a 50C. Without a camera activity, the 50C can be used for the whole day for intercom, we always use Open Mesh Intercom during our rides, up to 8-9 hours a day. When using the camera, battery life time is reduced dramatically. We have not found any battery lifetime information for camera usage provided by Sena. The only information we got is that a external power source is recommended for camera usage. With external power source connected, the 50C battery will be charged as long as the camera is not active. With active camera usage, the 50C is operated from the external power source, but the battery will not be charged.

It’s exactly the same as me. But I’ve found that the unit will charge whilst using the camera if it’s plugged into a power bank rather than the bike’s USB socket. To be honest, the camera part doesn’t get used because of this. In hindsight I wouldn’t have bought it. There are much better video options that perform better.

I don't own a camera to record my riding trips. But I'm sure, if I buy one, it must have a power connector to the 12V onbord power system, everything else is useless from my view

If you use a Gopro it can last much longer on the battery than the 50C, and you can change the battery for another charged one. The 50C is pretty much useless as a camera unless there's wire leading from it. Kind of goes against the purpose of it. Sick to 50S or 50R.

The 50C is a joke when it comes to the camera. I bought mine in Oct 2022. When just charged, after ~1-2 minutes of shooting video the warning "battery low" comes out. Then a couple of minutes later the camera shuts off.
On a ride with my nephew today I gave him my old helmet that still had mounted the Sena 10C I had purchased in 2016 - yes - NINE years ago. His camera lasted for over an hour - we actually finished the riding for the day and the 10C was still working fine. My 50C dead after 5-6 minutes of video.
