My SR10 has never worked properly
I bought my SR10 some four years ago to use when we go on long bike trips as a group. It connects to a Scala rider headset which is fine, except that pairing on start up can be tedious. The radio that I use is a Mitex general 5W UHF radio with your remote push to talk switch and a Motorola two pin adapter cable. The system has never worked satisfactorily. The problems are as follows.
- Initially it works fine but after an hour or so, the radio locks in talk mode. Unplugging the PTT cable has no effect. Sometimes unplugging the interface cable sorts it out but most times I have to power down and start again. This happens two or three times a day.
- On occasions the radio starts to scream at me. If I unplug the interface cable it stops, but plugging it in again resumes the screeching. The only way out is to restart the system.
The first problem is random in nature and reminds me of a tri state device output that is in a floating condition (or it could be an input causing the output to take a random state). Is that a possibility?
I have swapped radios with my friend and the same thing happens so I am sure that the problem lies with the SR10.
I now live in Malta and my question is how do I get it fixed because it is driving me nuts?

I am having the same problem in 2016. iPhone paired as primary phone and sr10 as secondary. Using the CB, all works good for a few minutes, but then the system gets stuck in talk mode, where the music goes away. If I stop and stay silent (cover the mic) for a few seconds, I get the music back. But as soon as I start the bike it drops the music and I hear the mic side tone. How do I fix this? It ruins having the CB connected. I have to turn off the SR10 to keep the system from locking in hot mic mode. 0 -
I emailed Sena customer support and in my frustration I did a write up on WebBikeWorld here at http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/sena-sr10/ , but even that was not enough to galvanise Sena into action. They simply do not care. The big PTT button is a pain and a really stupid bit of design (have their design guys ever tried using it on a bike?). The main solution was to buy another interface cable, and when that goes, I guess that I buy another one. The problem is that the individual wires inside are only insulated with a Shellac type coating which wears through with flexing, and so they eventually short out to each other simulating a PTT event. Unfortunately it is still the only game in town as a blue tooth hub, it is a great concept but very poorly executed. Shame on you Sena do you ever read customer comments? You have my email and I challenge you to respond, but I won't be holding my breath.
