Here's how to set the date and time on the 10C:

    1. Pair the 10C to your iPhone or Android smartphone.

    2. Start the Sena Smartphone App

    3. Tap the "Basic Settings" icon.

    4. Scroll down till you see "Date Caption" to make sure that is set to "On".

    5. Turn the camera on the 10C on by tapping the Camera Button once.

    6. The items in the "Basic Settings" menu should grey out and then return to normal. On Android, you may see a message that indicates the date and time are synced with the phone.

    Hi,

There are two parts to this answer.

1 - There is a bug with firmware v1.0 loaded on all units shipped so far. Apparently Sena has updated their firmware which should correct the date/time. Follow the instructions here to update: http://www.sena.com/product/10c/#support

2 - Provided the unit is working correctly, the date/time should automatically sync with your smartphone via the application. Simply turn on the 10c, then open the app on your phone, then select Basic Settings, and toggle on Date Caption.

Nope, does NOT work on my 10C running 1.0,2, All it does is write the correct date time group onto the photo (jpg) but the file date remains some mysterious time in the far past. NOT ACCEPTABLE because my photo importing program is set to arrange the photos by the date/time they were taken which means the machine readable date the file was created.

EDIT: Oops, I was wrong, the date-time caption is NOT CORRECT, its wrong, too.

I have tried many times to correct this problem by updating the firmware and toggling the date caption button but to no avail.

I got a reply from Sena that solved the problem. The secret was to turn the camera on while connected using the phone App! I was trying to do it with just the 10C on and never turning the camera on --- once I did that the dates are correct.

    Here's their response:

"Michael Bredesen, Sep 1, 9:00 AM:

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for contacting us, you will need the SENA smartphone App for the 10C to correct the time displayed on your data capture for the 10C
Download the Sena 10C App on your iPhone or Android to set up your group and stay connected with your friends. Save time with the Sena 10C App and enjoy your adventure even more!

    Note:
To set the right time for date caption, you must initially set the date using the
Sena Smartphone App. Pair your 10C with your smartphone, turn on the
10C camera, and run the Sena Smartphone App. The date will be updated
    automatically.

    Best Regards,
    Michael"

it would appear that SENA has chosen to ignore the date issue and think people are happy. Wee i am not. The time stamp is most useful if you need to hve proof of accident. Common SENA pull your finger out and come up with a solution.the previous comment from Michael Bredesen does not fix it.

The instructions given by Sena on 22 Dec 2015 _almost_ work...but not quite. Date does change, but the time is incorrect (I live in London, and the synced time was about 7 hours too early, despite my phone having the correct time).

I'm using a 10C on firmware 1.0.4, syncing to an iPhone 6 running 9.2.1. Running iOS Sena utility v1.7 on my iPhone.

I think the developers have overcomplicated things here - just give us a simple way of setting the date & time manually, and you should at least give us the ability to view / check the date/time using the utility. Agree that having the correct date/time is crucial for accident / incident recording, and not having it working is a major concern for me.

What happend in we have Windows Phone and no APP for Windows and we need to have the date/time correctly because this information is crucial for any incident.

Looks like the problem may be that device cannot be plugged in to your computer via USB while you perform these steps.

What tipped me off was that the last step says "the items should grey out and then return to normal." When the device is plugged in, the items are automatically greyed out and cannot return to normal until unplugged from USB.

Using firmware v2.0 on iPhone and I get a confirmation "Date successfully set".

It still doesn't work for me on Android,

I get to step 6, the items grey out, but they never come back and there is no message.

    I'm running a Galaxy S9

Make sure you are connecting the Sena "Camera" App, not the standard Sena Smartphone App.  The Camera app lets you view the perspective of the 10C and adjust camera settings while the Sena Smartpone App lets you configure the other settings for the 10C.

With all due respect, I think it's high time a solution to this is presented to the users. It's not exactly one of the cheap chinese headsets, and the quality in general is something that sets these headsets apart from so many others - including the lovely feature in having a camera right at your fingertips.

It's far too complicated and "trial and error" to set time and date on the headset though - perhaps a firmware update could make it less of a hazzle? I myself have just tried four or five times (again) in order to make it grab the current date and time... and that's just not good enough.
