10C charging current

What's the maximum charging current on the 10C?  Can it pull more than 500 mA if it detects it is connected to a dedicated charger per the USB specifications?  The included car charger has a 900 mA output, but when I tested the data pins, they weren't shorted together so the 10C would not be able to detect it as a dedicated charger if it is able to.  Just trying to see if there is a problem with my portable battery or if there is a hardware limitation that is causing the charging not to be able to keep up with the discharge rate while recording.

  very interested in knowing the answer to this too...  you might not get a response here tho...  maybe send in a question to their support email...  and post answer here?
