Shorter USB-Sena Cable
I don't need the long USB-Sena cable that you ship with the SMH5 and I doubt most other users do. The Sena unit is small and light; it doesn't need to be so far away from a computer's USB connector. In fact, I imagine most users have laptops, not desktops, so a short cable would certainly be fine for them.

Thank you for your suggestion. We will do the feasibility of make the USB cable shorter for user's convenience. We will keep you informed later.

I would also like a shorter cable. I have a power outlet and a usb adapter in the storage compartment on my gl1800. I charge all my devices from it. So a real short 6 or 12 inch cable would be nice.

I would disagree because I find the lead length ideal. I do not remove the SMH5 from our helmets when charging, updating firmware etc so having the longer lead ensures it is not stressed. I could remove the SMH5’s from the helmets but then that would over time loosen the audio connector (does not latch in place and appears to be held by friction only). The same loosening off will apply to the SMH5 to bracket mounting.
A longer lead is a minor inconvenience compared to that caused when the audio leads start popping out.
Sena would do better to improve the design of the audio connection port / plug.
