Have a setting to be able to turn off music sharing
It's very annoying with the new firmware that music sharing is always on. My wife and I listen to different music, but whenever we turn the intercom on to talk to each other, the music is then shared when we go out of intercom mode.
It's quite annoying to have to have to either pause the music prior to initiating an intercom session, or restart intercom at the end of each session.

+1, could someone from Sena please comment if this will be addressed. Is there a way to disable the music sharing. It is way to easy to turn it on without wanting to, and a royal PITA to turn it off. My passnger and I like to listed to our own iPhone music and tap the intercom to have a conversation. I leave VOX turned off so that we manually start a conversation. Would really like to disable this phone sharing. HOW?

Music Sharing with a Rider and a Passenger
You can start sharing music with an intercom friend using Bluetooth stereo music during a two-way intercom conversation. You should update SMH10
firmware v4.3rc1 to use music sharing function. Please make sure that your headset is paired with a Bluetooth music device as well as another
SMH10 headset for the intercom conversation. If they are not paired, please pair them by following the section “6.1 Mobile Phone Pairing” and
the section “8.1 Pairing with Other Headsets for the Intercom Conversation” in the SMH10 User’s Guide.
1 Turn on the two SMH10s. You can hear a voice prompt “Phone connected” or “Media connected” to check the connectivity of the Bluetooth music device. If not, you should pair the SMH10 with the Bluetooth music device and another SMH10 headset.
2 Tap the Jog Dial to start the intercom conversation with an intercom friend.
3 Press and hold the Jog Dial for 1 second to start music sharing with an intercom friend until you hear a double beep.
4 To convert the mode from music sharing to the intercom conversation, you or your intercom friend can tap the Jog Dial. To come back to the previous mode, you or your intercom friend can tap the Jog Dial again.
5 To track forward or to track back, rotate while pressing the Jog Dial clockwise or counter clockwise.
6 To terminate music sharing, press and hold the Jog Dial for 1 second until you hear a double beep. When you terminate music sharing, you can go back to the intercom conversation.0 -
Well that explains how to use Music Sharing but that is not the issue. The ask is how to disable it completely. It is too easy to enter without even trying. This needs to be a user selectable feature that can be disabled completely.

That was what I was asking.
How do I turn OFF music sharing permenantly?
sorry for shouting, but it doesn't seem to be getting through to Senna.

I agree. My riding partners and I used to be able to listen to music on our own Bluetooth devices, but now when we pair to each other, we're all forced to listen to music unknowingly shared by one of the riders. This is annoying to the point where I turn off the intercom, which defeats the main purpose of the headset. 0 -
SMH10 users: To toggle music sharing press and hold the Jog Dial for 2 second or until you hear a double beep, to start/stop music sharing during an intercom.

Disabling the Music Sharing feature on the SMH10 is done the exact same way as enabling the feature. While you're having an intercom conversation, the headset that is sharing the music needs to hold down the Jog Dial for 1 second until you hear two beeps then let go.

That's not disabling music sharing, that's pausing playback!
Here's a scenario:
Rider 1 listens to his own music.
Rider 2 listens to his own music.
Open a 2-way intercom, music is paused for both riders.
Pre-fw 5, if Rider 2 drops out of the conversation, his own music resumes and Rider 1's own music resumes.
The way it works with fw5:
If Rider 2 drops out of the conversation, now he's listening to rider 1's music. Holding down the jog dial by either rider simply pauses rider 1's music. Once the intercom is open, there is no way for rider 2 to listen to his own music. Rider 2 is either stuck listening to someone else's music, or has to close down the intercom connection completely.
This is a poorly implemented feature - please fix this.0 -
Doomcue. Well spelled out. Sena don't seem to understand what the problem is. Charlie 0 -
Still no response from Sena. Read Doomcue's details on what the problem is. Your response above does not address the problem I was asking about.

The direct emails that I have received from Sena basically say that this issue will never be resolved. They do not consider it a problem. With the 20s debacle, this is low to non-existent on the fix it list. This should be such a simple programming fix to to add an enable/disable selection in the setup menu but I do not expect Sena to ever address this issue.

Thanks,
Starting to sound like a reason to jump ship to another brand.

New to the Sena 10D and I'm also very frustrated that I'm forced to share my music with other riders. Not what I thought was how it performed. Considering returning them and filing a complaint with my credit card company if they don't honor it.

No one got a proper fix for that. It is quite annoying!

Anyone from SENA can ear this and fix this, this is not a feature this is a BUG.
