iPhone app crashes on Paring List action
I have an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.2, the Sena app version 1.2, and a Sena 20S with 1.1.1 firmware. The iPhone and Sena pair just fine and when I open the Sena app everything seems to work except the "Paring List" action. When I click the "Pairing List" action the list appears but then the Sena app immediately crashes every time. I've tried repairing, reinstalling the app, but it still crashes every time. Also, my headset is listed as "Sena 20S v1.1" in the bluetooth device list even though I have the 1.1.1 firmware installed.

I have also reported this issue. Just upgraded the app to 1.3 and the problem still exists. I'm running ios 7.1.2, 20s firmware 1.1.1 and app ver 1.3

Allan, I also updated to version 1.3 of the iphone app and it still crashes clicking in the Pairing List. 0 -
Support just requested I wipe my iPhone and restore it from iTunes. to see if this works. That's not happening. I told them to figure out whats wrong with the app. Asking users to wipe their phone and do a restore (which does not restore it back exactly like it was) is a bit to much.

The person (Wahyit Cheung) working on my ticket #42434 for the app crashing issue said it works fine on his iPhone 4s. That doesn't help me. Restoring the iphone is a total nonstarter. 0 -
Same support person is working on my issue also. 0 -
They just closed the issue saying my iPhone is the problem since I won't wipe it and do a restore. 0 -
They have now told me that unless I do a restore on my iPhone 5s they will close the ticket. I have told them that asking users to do a restore is unreasonable. I've been using iPhones and iOS apps for years and I have never been asked or had to restore the iPhone to get an app to work. I tried contacting Sena via twitter but no response. I'm not very happy with my purchase right now.

I was asked to send in a crash report which I did on Friday. Lets see what they can make of the issue now that they have actual data on the crash.

Prior to asking me to restore my iPhone to close the ticket they asked me to send the Sena app crash report too, which I did. I didn't help my ticket. I should post the crash report here.

@Allan: Thank you for e-mailing a copy of your crash report to the specified address. It has been directed to our developers.
@Spoonyfork: You don't need to post your crash report on this forum as it has been obtained from your ticket and directed to our developers.

Based on the crash reports that have been requested, our developers have determined that when the app is crashing while loading the Pairing List it is caused by the something on the iPhone. Since this is something that is caused by the iPhone itself, and not the app, then we are unable to fix the issue. Hopefully this gets resolved with iOS8, which is coming out next week. Otherwise, restoring the phone through iTunes is another possible solution.

Mine also crashes, like the others.
As much as I hate to do a full restore of my iPhone, I ended up doing that, and it did NOT solve the problem.
I AM SO FRUSTRATED!
Also, I am unable to get the S20 to pair with an Interphone F5, despite following the instructions to the letter.
I upgraded firmware on the S20 and F5, still no go.
Taking the unit back to my supplier tomorrow for a full refund.

So where is the comment I just posted? Is Sena going to filter through new comments and decide which will be permitted onto the form?
Censorship is just not on...

Apologies, I see my post did eventually appear.

Update: on 2014-09-11 I upgraded my 20S to firmware 1.2, upgraded the Sena iPhone app to 1.3.1, and repaired with my iPhone 5s (iOS 7.1.2) and the Sena app still crashes when I click Paring List. Sena did close my ticket saying the cause of the app crashing is with my iPhone not the app but won't say what part of the iPhone but recommend doing a restore and maybe that will fix it. Best of luck to anyone else out there with the same issue. I tried!

I also upgraded all and had the same crash. I'm going to wait for iOS 8 next week and see if that solves the issue before I do a restore.

After upgrading my iPhone to iOS 8 the issue is resolved.

I received my replacement 20S today (front screw housing broke and no longer locking into base) and with the new unit running firmware 1.2, iPhone 5S running iOS 8.0, and Sena app 1.3.1 the app no longer crashes when I select Paring List. Not how I expected this to be resolved but it is resolved for me.

So, the issue was actually caused by the iPhone and OS 7?
Interesting.
I've had other features break with IOS installations that were fixed by subsequent IOS's. For instance, My iPhone 3 did hands-free telephone with my Nissan Titan, no problem. When I upgraded to an iPhone 4, the hands-free function quit working. Apple said that the problem was with Nissan. Nissan said it was with Apple. Whatever, I was without hands-free operation for 4 years. Then, IOS-7 was released and suddenly, my Titan hands-free worked again. Actually, I was startled when the truck stereo system phone ring sounded . . . I hadn't heard it in 4 years.
Now, I'm afraid to upgrade to IOS 8. Don't want to lose my Titan hands-free phone again.

So, why do we cling to the 20s?
It’s not waterproof dust proof etc
It doesn’t have anywhere near the range it promised
The Volume is mostly unsatisfactory
It won’t connect GPS and phones properly
Group connect is a challenge best debut with while not riding
The unit doesn’t stay on the base, Yup, if it doesn’t fall off, it won’t even lock onto it’s base
FM radio doesn’t work as promised
It shuts off at random
It’s got killer beeps, Killer, not in a good way.
Volume levels are inconsistent from Radio to music to phone to intercom to prompts to GPS
Runner ups on issues less complained about
Music sharing doesn’t work
Cold temp shut off (likely a Canadian issue)
Won’t connect to computer
Customer support is lacking more like laughable
Battery drains when the unit’s turned off
Pairing the 20s to SMH 10 is tricky
And there’s seemingly endless pages of issues…
Why Are we staying with this product?
Take your pick of any 3 items from above you’d like to have work flaulessly
Here’s how to activate them
Go buy a competitors product
Think tis is joke answer?
Truth is, any of the 3 you picked, actually do work on just about any other motorcycle bluetooth intercom system.
