    Hello,

I apologize for the issues you've encountered while updating the firmware. I understand that you've taken some extra steps to troubleshoot this on your own, including using the originally supplied cable.

It’s possible that the original cable has degraded over time, which could be preventing the firmware from being properly written to the chipset.

You also mentioned trying other cables. Were those cables capable of providing both power and data? The cable must support both functions in order to successfully overwrite the old firmware.

please respond to the ticket I created for you, to proceed further.

I am having the same problem, except mine has never worked. Purchased in May 2024. Have tried Mac and PC. Have tried the over the air method. It just doesn't work.

    Help

I have the exact same issue, its not the cable, I have two 50S devices. It works on one and on the other it does not. Even worst the second device after I updated firmware back in December it does not turn on again and I can restore the original firmware because the system does not recognize it.

Now I am being told that I may have to send it back in the original packaging? I have traveled through several different countries in the last year. I cannot be carrying these packages forever, is ridiculous.

    Two comments:

    1.  Doing it on a MAC has not worked for me.  I had to switch to using a PC.  WOuld never recognize the device.

    2. You definitely need to use the USB cable that came from Sena.  Any old usb cable will NOT work.  I lost my cable and bought a new one from Sena, and THEN it worked, using a PC.

Have you tried resetting the SRL unit or checking if there’s any updated firmware for the Mac OS itself? Sometimes, a full system reboot after the failed connection might help as well. It sounds like the SRL is charging fine, but there’s a connection issue that could be software-related.

I have used both Mac and PC and neither worked. Both computers are fully updated. I was using the Sena USB right out of the box.

What do you mean by resetting the SRL unit?

    Thanks

I am having this same issue too. From the complex description in the Sena Device Manager (so much room for improvement here), I assume the device should be on?

    Mac OS Senoma 14.6.1

I did a factory reset because establishing a connection between the two devices is very unreliable. Did not help.

Hoping for some support here. What is the over air method mentioned in some posts is that an option?

    FTR I was able to successfully update a new SRL2, to v1.0.9, on a macOS 15.0.1 (24A348) M2 Macbook Air, using SENADeviceManagerForMAC-v4.4.9.pkg.

The first attempt, using a third-party USB cable, failed; the successful attempt used the cable provided with the SRL2. The Device Manager app crashed once, but worked the second time.

I noticed on the working attempt, the macOS System Information was showing two USB devices connected to a "USB 2.0 hub", as below.

    Good luck!
