If your Outstar S helmet isn’t connecting to the Sena Motorcycle App, despite updates, here are a few steps that should help resolve the issue:
1. Check for Firmware Updates on a Computer
- Ensure the firmware is up-to-date by connecting the Outstar S to your computer with the Sena Device Manager. Occasionally, a newer firmware version is released than what may appear on the app. Visit Sena’s website to download and install the Sena Device Manager, if needed.
- After updating, disconnect and restart your Outstar S helmet.
2. Clear Bluetooth Cache on Your Phone
- On your phone, go to Settings > Apps > Sena Motorcycle App (or “Bluetooth” under “System Apps” on some devices), and clear the cache and data.
- Restart your phone and try reconnecting to the Outstar S. Clearing the cache can help fix common connection issues.
3. Re-Pair the Helmet with Your Phone
- Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings, find the Outstar S in the list, and remove (or "forget") it.
- Turn the Outstar S off, then back on, and enter pairing mode (refer to your Outstar S manual if you need help with this step).
- Re-pair the helmet with your phone, then open the Sena Motorcycle App to attempt the connection again.
4. Check for App Permissions
- Make sure the Sena Motorcycle App has all necessary permissions on your phone, such as Bluetooth, Location, and Storage permissions.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Sena Motorcycle App > Permissions, and ensure all required permissions are allowed.
5. Test with Another Device
- If possible, try connecting your Outstar S to a different smartphone or tablet to see if the app works. If it connects, the issue may be specific to your phone settings or Bluetooth compatibility.
6. Contact Sena Support
- If none of these steps work, the issue may be related to compatibility or a specific problem with the app version. Contact Sena Support directly, as they may have additional troubleshooting steps or a patch in progress to resolve this.
Following these steps should help resolve the connectivity issue. If a particular step works for you, be sure to note it for future connections, and enjoy your ride!
