Helmet sizing

I've been looking at the Impulse helmet... when it comes to sizing the chart.. I'm a little confused... at the Fortnine website for example.. the sizing chart states... "If your head measurement falls between two helmet sizes, it is suggested to go with the smaller size."

Now when I come to the Mothership here... the chart says the opposite...go to the larger size... 

Also, the measurement sizing parameters are a little different from chart to chart.. Fortnine for example... Large is "22 5/8 - 23"... the Mothership here... " 23 – 23  1/2"

  I recommend going a size larger if your sizing falls between two options. While it might seem logical to choose the smaller size—since the helmet liner will eventually conform to the shape of your face—not all helmets are made the same, regardless of the manufacturer. For this reason, it's better to opt for the larger size. Keep in mind that our helmets tend to fit slightly tighter.
