Pairing SRL2 with moto Ducati : impossible
Hi everyone,
I can't pair my SRL2 (firmware updated : 1.0.9) with my bike Ducati Multistrada (year 2020).
The bike "see" the SRL2 and I can validate it on the bike, but the SRL2 remain in "pairing mode".
I 've tried evrything : clear the pairing, reset factory, re-write the firmware, connect the bike as a phone or a GPS.

Pairing your Sena SRL2 with your Ducati Multistrada (2020) can sometimes encounter issues due to compatibility quirks between devices. Here's a structured approach to resolve this problem:
1. Preparation
-
Clear All Pairings on Both Devices:
-
SRL2:
- Hold the Phone Button for 10 seconds until you hear “Configuration Menu.”
- Use the buttons to navigate to “Delete All Pairings” and confirm.
-
Multistrada:
- Clear the SRL2 from the Bluetooth device list on the bike.
-
SRL2:
-
Reboot Both Devices:
- Turn off the SRL2 and the bike's electronics.
- Restart both after a few seconds.
2. Pairing Procedure
-
Set SRL2 in Phone Pairing Mode:
- Hold the Phone Button for 5 seconds until you hear “Phone Pairing.”
-
Initiate Pairing on the Multistrada:
- On the bike, navigate to Bluetooth Settings > Pair New Device.
- Select SRL2 when it appears on the bike’s display.
-
Confirm Pairing:
- The bike will show a pairing request. Accept it on the bike's display.
- The SRL2 should announce "Your headset is paired."
3. If It Stays in Pairing Mode
If the SRL2 remains in pairing mode, try the following:
Option A: Pair as a GPS
- Enter Second Mobile Phone Pairing Mode on the SRL2:
- Press and hold the Jog Dial for 5 seconds until you hear "Configuration Menu."
- Navigate to Second Mobile Phone Pairing and select it.
- Pair the bike as a GPS device instead of a phone.
Option B: Manual Code Input
- Some Ducati bikes require a PIN code to complete pairing.
- If prompted on the Multistrada, enter 0000 (default Sena PIN).
Option C: Alternate Pairing Order
- Pair your phone to the bike first.
- Then, pair the SRL2 to the bike.
- Some systems require the phone to act as the intermediary for successful operation.
4. Update Software Compatibility
-
Ensure your Ducati Multistrada has the latest software version for its dashboard.
- Visit your Ducati dealer if you're unsure.
-
Check Sena's firmware version (1.0.9 is the latest for SRL2, which you mentioned is already installed).
5. Reset to Factory Defaults
If issues persist, repeat the factory reset:
-
SRL2:
- Press and hold the Phone Button and the center together for 10 seconds.
- Release them when the SRL2 powers off.
6. Contact Support
If none of these steps work, there may be an incompatibility between the SRL2 and the Multistrada's Bluetooth implementation.
- Sena Support: Reach out for device-specific troubleshooting.
- Ducati Support: Confirm the bike’s dashboard is compatible with your Sena model.
Let me know if you need detailed guidance on any of these steps!
