Sound Quality Whike Riding
I have the H-D 20S. Sound quality from all sources is good while at stop. When at highway speeds, wind and highway noise make it impossible to hear. However the Nav prompts always come through fine. I have an HJC RPHA Helmet. The speakers are installed as instructed. Appreciate your thoughts. Dave

is the volume of your audio device turned up all the way? Also turn on audio boost on the Sena if necessary. Depending on the bike, hearing at highway speeds can be challenging. I have a BMW touring bike and a dual sport and it is perfect on the tourer with still some volume adjustment room but on the dual sport the volume is near it's max. I have found that using soft earplugs help a lot with the wind and highway noise and allow me to listen to music comfortably at a lower level.

I too have highway hearing issue, as well as the constan static. My wife and I had the biggest argument over this issue. She finally turned hers off and I had just my Zumo GPS to communicate with. This is BS, especially the money I paid. I wish I never sold my 10S set.
I see many others with same static issues. We have the newer 20S Evo and can not communicate sitting on the Tike.

I have a set of around-the-ear sport ear buds and took a ride yesterday using those instead of the 20S speakers. Like night and day difference in audio quality. I tried ear plugs thinking that they would cancel some of the noise but they fell out as I put on the helmet. So I am back to the earbuds. They are not as convenient or comfortable as the speakers but at least I can hear the music at highway speeds. I have ordered some higher technology noise blanking ear buds in hopes that they will cut back more of the noise. I have removed the S20 speakers from my helmet. Will keep you updated.

Hi Dave - I just use foam earplugs which do the trick, and are comfortable and cheap (15.00 for 80 of them at Lowes). I wore them even before having a comm device just to protect my hearing. I've tried the fancy ones but like you said, they sometimes fall out, not that comfortable. and don't really seem to do much better at attenuating sound than the foam. As for earbuds, I've got a couple pair of them but sometimes they too are not comfortable on a long ride and I have the opposite problem with them occasionally being too loud!

I have a 30K. The problems I had initially were the inability to hear the audio sufficiently thru the speakers when wearing my helmet because of the earplugs I wear while riding for hearing protection. It wasn't until someone suggested I try using "Earbuds" that the performance improved to a satisfactory level. Once that happened, I removed the speakers from the helmet and now use only the Earbuds. Not once during the conversations with my dealer or the phone calls with the factory rep did anyone suggest using Earbuds to enhance the audio performance of the 30K.My suggestion to Sena would be to, if not provide Earbuds with their products, at least make the suggestion in the instruction manual to consider Earbuds for optimal performance.0

Pilotace918 - Sounds like we both went through the same issues and came up with the same solution. I ended up with some inexpensive noise blanking earbuds that did the trick. Putting on the helmet with the ear buds is a pain along with the dangling wire, but a small price to pay since the earphones were useless. I agree that Sena should at least have some comment in their manual. Other than this one issue, the Senna system has worked as expected with my H-D Tri Glide.
