SMH10 firmware update v5.1.2 serious problem.
I have two SMH10's. I have been able to update one of the units, without any issues. Upon attempting to update the second unit, I did not receive the "hold the phone button until this message disappears" message, but the update manager continued to show an updating progress line. When it reached 90% it hung up. I could not stop the process. I disconnected the SMH10, deleted the device manager and reinstalled it. Now, the SMH10 will not turn on, nor is it recognized within the update manager. On disconnecting the SMH10 from the PC I tried to turn the unit ON, but it will not turn ON. I tried both the soft reset and the hard reset. Neither have restored the unit. What can I do to correct this issue?

Richard, I contacted the support @ Sena and they suggested the following which solved my very similar problem (it happened at 6% for me):
-----
1) Open the Sena Device Manager and get on Device Recognition screen.
2) Plug your unit into the computer to a different USB port.
3) Using a paperclip, press into the pinhole on the back of the main unit to perform a Fault reset.
4) Try powering on your unit by holding down the Jog Dial and Phone button for 2 seconds.
5) Whether it powers on or not, click Next to recognize device.
6) If successfully recognized, proceed with the firmware update.
The unit should be functional again if the firmware was able to update all the way through.
Be sure to do a Factory Reset after each firmware update to allow the new settings to load properly.

Good luck

Tengo el mismo problema con un SENA MSH5 y acabo de hacer lo que dices y sigue muerto. No se que hacer.
Se interrumpió la actualización al 90% y ahora no enciende.
Por favor alguna ayuda?

Cefe, has hecho el tercer paso?
(Using a paperclip, press into the pinhole on the back of the main unit to perform a Fault reset. )
Jo lo hizo, el software inicialmente no detecto my sena, pero si continuo a hacer el upgrade.
En que paso tuviste el problema?
También puedes tentar hablar con alguien de Sena, esto es lo que finalmente me ayudo.

I had the same problem today, used Deivy's guidance and it worked fine on my SMH10. Thank you Deivy!
