Pairing 30k with 20s / Intercom + Music = Nightmare

I am beyond frustrated, I almost left the 30k  in the middle of the road 75 miles away from my house. 

I started with a 30k as I bought it at a decent price new. Many moons later I bought a 20s so I can talk to my GF while we ride and also listen to music. I found out about the Multi Tasking issue the 30k has which was resolved in Firmware 2.1. Also updated 20s to firmware 2.0 for good measure.

So I assume that the 30k needs to be paired with my phone and needs to be paired also with the 20s. We can talk to each other, no problem. We can not listen to music though. After talking to tech support, they suggested a reset, which I did, and I got the music to work along with the intercom. This worked once and never again. It's only one or the other. We went on a small road trip to Mexico yesterday and this was my first time with 2 Sena devices and I couldnt get the dam thing to work the way I wanted it. I gave up, I almost trashed the 30k but my GF stopped me. I plan on buying another 20s. I regret buying the 30k. I am willing to sell it at a lost at this point. 

Has anyone gotten the 30k and 20s to work; Intercom + Music?

Do you need to use the Sena app to listen to music?

And yes Multitasking is enabled.

Sena app also sucks.

  I am here just to vent with you my friend. My wife and I have the 20 s, we bought as a bundle. If we are just going to be using the intercom there is no problem. If she wants to listen to her music she cant use the intercom. My sena does not have that issue. I have tried everything in my power to fix it but still nothing. One of my riding buddies has the 10s, and we can connect fine (ish) but we both can not have music going and intercom without it becoming really distorted and unusable. When we get in big rides with multiple people we have tried 3 and 4 riders but it has never gone the way I feel like it should. To answer maybe one of your questions you should not have to have the app to listen to music. I know that doesn't really help you but I am here just to vent with you in the hopes that someone important will see this and finally fix the issue. best of luck

  Can't say what version of firmware my 30K H-D device has because it will no longer open with the device manager software.  Was looking on the boards for a solution.  

  I used my 30K with a fellow rider that had the 20S device.  I would update the firmware on both again.  Make sure they are synced before taking off. 

  I link to my H-D Boom GTS system, iPhone is plugged in and on CarPlay and I get music off iPhone, directions off iPhone (via Waze) and I can press the side button to talk to the 20S rider.
