Mesh intercom disabled, bluetooth intercom enabled 50R
I installed a pair of new 50R intercoms in mine and my sons helmets today. The sound quality is miles beyond the SMH-10s that we had been using as well as the range. A half hour into our first ride using open mesh for the first time it started saying "Mesh intercom disabled, bluetooth intercom enabled". But it stayed in mesh according to the green LEDs. This continued every 5 minutes or so for the next half hour. We finally gave up, turned mesh off manually and enabled bluetooth. The sound and range was still great, but I'd like to have mesh working correctly. Anybody have any Ideas? We'll try switching channels next and group mesh, But I think it should work out of the box in open mesh. Both units were updated to the latest firmware and we were only 3 feet apart when it started happening.

I had exactly the same issue with brand-new out of the box 50S Dual headsets.
I think it's to do with this issue:

But can't see where to disable BT Intercom anywhere in User Guide??!! Must be there somewhere....

I think I found it:
Try this to disable BT Intercom:

Martin - I think you hit the nail on the head. The dual pack units such as the 20s are bluetooth paired out of the box and it is quite possible the 30k and 50r/s units in dual packs may also be set up that way. Then again it may be a new user setting up two units for both bluetooth and mesh without realizing the potential conflict that you have discovered in the user manual. The quick start guide does not address it so it could be an understandable frustration for many.
Sena may want to address this issue in the quick start guide as a lot of folks never bother to look over the full online manual.

Ken,
Yes the 50S Dual headsets are indeed BT paired straight out of the box - in fact there's a slip of paper in the bulky pack of multi-language QSG's stating this fact.
I think in the process of muddling through during first use we must have inadvertantly turned on BT Intercom - what is too well hidden away in the User Guide and barely mentioned in the QSG is how to disable BT Intercom...
I think it woudl have been better for Sena to ship the dual kits un-paired and let MESH 2.0 handle everything out of the box, that's its USP anyway as it handles group members automatically in Open Mesh.
I will try disabling BT Intercom next time we're out for a ride and report back...

Martin - I would clear the bluetooth pairing completely from both units completely rather than disabling the function so as to not accidentally engage it during a ride.
Do a factory reset on both units to clear the bluetooth pairings.

Good call, will most likely do just that...
