    Always after an update do the fault reset on back of unit and then do a factory reset in config menu. clear pairing on your phone and gps, repair to the phone and gps. do not use the garmin smart phone notification feature as it seems to garble the sound. if using the boom mic make sure it is facing the right way as in the manual.
