On the back of the unit is a little hole. When the unit is on poke the end of a paperclip through the hole carefully. You should feel a slight click and the unit will turn off and reset.

Did you do a factory reset after firmware upgrade? I find that tends to fix a lot of problems that crop up - especially audio issues.
