I also have a SMH10B dual pack.  The first unit's firmware upgraded from 5.0.1 to 5.1 without issue.  The second unit immediately fails the upgrade with a "Failed to update firmware ... Cannot make...

Update...  Looks like, in my case, the Windows 7 UAC was getting in the way.  I ended up running the SenaBluetoothDeviceManager as Administrator.  The second device then updated as expected.
