What is Audio Overlay?

Audio Overlay allows you to hear two audio sources simultaneously. When Audio Overlay is enabled, phone calls, GPS instructions and intercom conversations can be overlayed with audio from the FM radio, music or GPS app instructions from a smartphone in the background, with reduced volume.

Here are a two of examples of Audio Overlay:

  • During an active phone call you can hear the instructions from your GPS device (such as the Garmin zumo) with the same volume level as the phone call.
  • While listening to music on your headset and your friend wants to talk to you using the Intercom feature, the music will continue to play with a softer volume and allow the Intercom conversation at the same time.

The volume level of the background audio such as music and FM radio can be adjusted using the Sena smartphone app.
