20S - Is it possible to switch between music player and phone music?
I have recently bought the 20S, mainly because of the audio multitasking and the supposedly better noise control on the intercom (supposedly so far since I haven't tested it above 100 kmh). I have the latest version of the firmware, of course. I have paired the phone and an audio device (a bluetooth digital DAB radio, since FM is going out of style in Norway), but is it possible to have access to both the music files on the phone through Bluetooth Audio profile and the Bluetooth DAB radio, or do I actually have to pair my phone with the second phone method, so I loose the ability to use media files on that? If it's possible, how do I switch between them?
-
OK I have found out that if I do a first phone pairing on the phone and then a media pairing for the DAB, instead of a phone pairing (press five seconds on the phone button for phone pairing and then a short press on the jog dial for media pairing) I can have both the phone and the DAB radio connected at the same time. The problem is that then I can't get audio from the phone to play on the 20S unless I turn off the DAB radio. But I guess I can live with that, if that's the only solution, I will have to put a button for the DAB accessible on the bike (since the actual radio is underneath the seat). But shouldn't there be a method to jump between phone media audio and media unit audio when bothe are possible to use?

Any response here? I have same question...
TIA

Except for your response, nothing...

The headset can only support one audio streaming at a time. This means that the DAB has to stop streaming to the 20S before the phone can stream it's music.
The headset itself cannot chose which audio source to listen to.

From section 5.2 of the User Guide:
Note:
If you have two audio (A2DP) devices connected to your headset then the
audio from one device will interrupt the audio from the other device. For
example, if you are playing music from the primary mobile phone, then it
can be interrupted by playing music from the secondary mobile phone and
vice versa.So, the question is:
If you turn off one of the streaming sources at its source, can you just press and hold the Jog Dial for 1 second and hear the other streaming source and vice-versa?

As I said, when I have the DAB radio (paired as media) on, it will ble the only thing streaming. But when I turn that off, the phone can stream again. Turning the DAB on again will re-take the streaming part. So I'm fitting a switch inside my fairing to turn off the DAB (which is under my seat) without stopping.

...not so easy for me since my streaming music comes from my Sena SM10 and the on-off switch on it is too dangerous to operate with gloves on. Especially since I have it housed in the left fairing pocket of my Honda GL1800.
Maybe I'll start a new thread with a request for a streaming music switching feature for the Sena 20s.

Why do you need a Bluetooth intercom for helmets in your convertible car?
But seriuosly, I use one of those SM10's for my wife's streaming of the radio (the DAB radio can only stream to one recipient, so that's paired with my Sena, while my wife receives it via the SM10). But I have that on a switch too. If you search the forum you will see that when using the original 12V power supply (not a regular 5V, that won't work) you can open the SM10, disconnect the battery and close it again. Then you can hook it up to a switched cigarette lighter type loose power outlet (like I have under the saddle of my Honda Blackbird, I bought a cheap lighter extension cable and cut the wire to put in a switch) and turn it on and off with that.

Haha convertible...
Yes that sounds like a good solution, just don't feel like going through the trouble!

Well, it's one of the few bikes that makes a big sports tourer like the Blackbird look pretty lean and mean... But let me know if you start a thread, I will most certainly vote for that addition to the firmware.

OK, will do.
I love the Blackbird.

Me too, I think I'm actually stuck on that bike. Just have to find another carburetor Bird when this one's done, but hopefully that will take time. They can go pretty long.
As for Wings, I can certainly admire a nice looking one, and my wife's a fan. They just aren't fit for my style of riding. :)

Take a test ride, you will be surprised.

I posted the feature request here:

I tried one maybe ten years ago. Even though the sparks from the foot rests in the corners were pretty cool, I don't think it would be a lasting solution.

Sparks... Hahaha then you are correct! I've only dragged the pegs about 20 times, but now I choose better lines and hang off more!! Hahaha...

I could probably live with a Wing if it was my second bike, for long trips with my wife only. But I can only afford one, and I need a lot more aggressive cornering when I ride alone. ;)
