Pairing two SMH10 headsets to one device

To connect to my MP3 player, XM Radio, or other audio device without Bluetooth, I currently use a Bluetooth Dongle Adapter device similar to this: TaoTronics (click here)  

Since I would like to have my wife listen to the same audio I'm listening to, I am thinking I could  use a Y-adapter from my player's audio jack allowing me to connect two Bluetooth Adapters so we can pair both headsets at the same time.  Hopefully this will get us through until Sena releases the A2DP hub allowing two bluetooth connections, sometime around mid 2012.

  Thank you for your feedback. We will release Bluetooth music adapter for rider and pillion couple. It is under development and to be released spring time next year. We will keep you updated when we are ready.

  Just got an email from Sena in response to this question: "Due to this drawback, Sena has come out with a dual audio transmitter that connects to any audio device via audio cable and transmits the audio to two headsets simultaneously."

  I asked for more info on that statement and will update here.

  I would also like to see this feature added - while the audio transmitter might work it doesn't support Bluetooth inputs, only cable connections.  With modern GPS systems providing bluetooth connectivity to directions, music and phones it would be very useful to have both our our headsets connected such that we could both listen to music and upcoming route directions.  Hopefully this feature won't be cancelled in lieu of using the cable connected option which is very limiting.

  For those following this thread, Sena did release the SM10 which does support two A2DP profiles simultaneously so in essence two SMH10 headsets can pair to the SM10 and listen to the same audio source.  The SM10 does only support 1 mono input and 1 stereo input, both by wired connections only.  

  Bob, you are right that it would be nice to see a BT input too though, but most GPS still have a 3.5mm output jack, so I don't think this should be too limiting at this time?

  The sena sm10 seems OK. But one more pricey thing I have to buy to put on my bike. Cardo seems to have been able to do it with the Q1 and Q3 using A2DP. Can Sena do this all in one unit? Yes of course they can, just do it. I hate dicking with the Sm10 all the time and hated paying an extra $150 to do it.

  Hello All

  I'm confused. I downloaded the new Firmware v4.3 Beta (Sept 22,2013) and under the "Music Sharing with a Rider and a Passenger" section I interpret it to mean I can listen to one audio source with two headsets. Am I reading the instructions correctly.

  Hey Terry, I know your comment is a few months old here, but yes the 4.3 software allows 2 headsets to listen to one music source.  The way it works for example is if headset A is connected to an audio source and Headset B wants to listen in, Headset A's A2DP connection is bridged with the Headset B's and the music is shared.  To start music sharing, you start in an intercom conversation with the two headsets, Headset A holds down the jog dial for the double beep to start their music just like normally would.  However, since they are inside of an intercom conversation, Headset B also hears the music.  The intercom goes silent and the music is shared between both users.  Either user can still press the jog dial to re-establish the intercom and the music is paused.  Technically if Headset B also has their own music source, they can share their music with Headset A the same way.

  Terry, Talk about months late?????....... Anyway,as an owner of a smh10 that firmware (4.3) upgrade information really helped a lot!! I was able to connect both a smh10 and a smh5 to my iPod. One issue was after the double beep the music had to be manually started and sometimes it disconnected one of the smh's or stopped the music! Any thoughts?? Thanks

  I would also like to see this feature additional - whereas the audio spreader might work it doesn't provision Bluetooth contributions, only cable connections.  With contemporary GPS systems provided that Bluetooth connectivity to directions, tune and mobiles it would be very suitable to have both our headphones linked such that we could both listen to music and future way directions.  pay to write papers
