SR 10 - Adapter Cables for OEM Systems - Honda/Harley/J&M/BMW
The lack of adapter cables for using the SR10 with On-Board/OEM systems is fairly easily solved by using a SA-0016 bare ended cable and the appropriate DIN connector for the 5, 6 or 7 pin connection. We have successfully wired these into a GoldWing and J&M 2003 systems by pairing up the audio, grounds and mic wires, while abandoning the PTT wire (has no where to go!). An open channel needs to be established, but after that all functions c/b, radio alternate feeds and BT-phones are working. Diagrams are readily available!

Ernie..I hooked up my SR-10 to my Goldwing by using the Hirose open end connector from the SR-10 to the 5 pin headset intercom connector ( Either under the seat or under the left pocket ) I purchased some hitachi connectors to do this just for convenience. The Hirose has 4 wires , RED, BLUE, BROWN, BLACK. I connected the RED to the Icom (MIC) pin 1-White, BLUE to Icom(Speaker) pin 5-red, BLACK to Icom (ground) pin-3 black. I still haven't figured out where to hook in the BROWN (PTT) to the Goldwing yet, but I'm working on it. I used it this way on a long trip this year and it works good. With this hook up, the cb transmits fine if I'm listening to music, but if you're not, you will need to double tap the SR-10 PTT button to keep the transmit signal open. I have my SR-10 button on the handle bars and I have the SR-10 mounted in the trunk. Lots more, but enough for now. Rick
