Plastic broke that clamps 20s to helmet
The plastic piece on the back of the main control unit that slides and clamps to the helmet broke of. I would think that you would have metal to metal not plastic to metal. Has anyone else had this fail?

I'm not quite understanding what piece broke off...
Are you saying the Headset Main Unit (20S) plastic broke, or the Universal Helmet Clamp broke?I had a friend's metal latch on the Universal Helmet Clamp break when the helmet was dropped with the 20S attached. The inertia of the 20S separating from the Universal Helmet Clamp snapped the metal latch but the plastic catch ridge on the 20S unit was fine! Had to buy another Universal Helmet Clamp separately - wasn't able to fix the metal latch.

The part that broke off is the plastic piece on the back of the 20s main unit.
it slides on the helmet and clicks into the latch which is metal.
i have seen that sena is now making that piece in metal.
of course they dont want to replace the unit or repair it.
it is out of warranty. To me it is a design flaw. plastic to metal will never hold up over time.

Oh that's nice they're making it metal now! Good to see that they're improving the design from feedback.
I wonder if you could use a hot soldering iron with a small piece of abs or lego, melt a gob onto the 20S and then reshape the plastic catch with a file once it's cooled down?0 -
I have exactly the same issue, just logged it with the help desk but as its the weekend I don't expect an answer immediately.
I hope they can fix it as the comms unit still works even though its a few years since purchase, it just won't attach to the mount anymore.

Same thing happened to me. What I did was get some JB weld black plastic epoxy bonder, mixed it up and applied it to the broken spot. Let it harden overnight then with a small file carefully shaped it to match the original lip. It's been holding well now for over a year and looks original.
Agree original design is a weak spot and should be made of a stronger material. I'm very careful about taking it on and off the mount, pushing it down before hitting the button to release it and conversely when putting it back on.
