I'm using Samsung Galaxy S9 Google Maps. When maps, after a period of inactivity start talking, the voice volume won't start at the full level, but it will start quietly, and then the volume will gradually increase. Like a "fade in". As a result, I'm not able to understand the beginning of the directions, as they are simply too quiet.
Has anyone faced the problem like this?

Well, after reverting to firmware 1.5 the issue is gone ...but now the "audio multitasking" option is also gone from settings.
Is there any way to resolve this issue with firmware 2.0?
I wish mine was quiet... any time google activates, be it the assistant or the maps, or hell an incoming call, no matter how any other audio is coming off my phone, my ear drums bleed
So in my case here is how it works:
Google says for example: "In 200ft turn right on Havana street", and what I'm able to understand is ".. .... ... ... ... .. .on Havana street". The voice is just slowly fading in instead of just saying the whole thing on a constant level.
This makes using the GPS pretty much useless :(
I have the same issue with Sena 10s firmware v2.0. After downgrading this 'fade in issue' is gone.
But I wan't to have firmware v2.0 of course...
Can you fix it?
I have the exact same issue, on an iPhone with a 10R, so it is definitely not phone or app related, it's the Sena 2.0 firmware. They need to fix it, right now the headset is useless with v2.0.
Is anyone from Sena reading this thread? Any response please?
Try to contact support, I did. Created a ticket but if ppl do it the priority might raise
According to my observation this is related to A2DP high quality Bluetooth profile choice. In v2.0 Sena seams to implement this fade in volume strategy which is Ok for music play but NOT RGIHT for short navigation notifications. Every time the device starts sound transmission over A2DP profile connection it slowly increase volume.
As a workaround you can choose to temporary disable A2DP High Quality option and stick to HFP profile and there is no “fade in” strategy implemented.
I have 10R headset and after v2.0 update I have also got this bug of volume ramp up strategy :(
Interesting, I had the A2DP option in the 1.5 firmware, but after updating to 2.0 the option disappeared ; )

I'd suggest you guys to create a formal ticket too. Mine is at 'R&D department' at the moment, but not much response.
Might help if you raise a ticket to so the priority might go up.
Response I got is that I should revert back to the older firmware :-(
That's a workaround, not a fix. You'll not have the v2 functionalities.
Request them to create a ticket.
Same problem here: Sena 10s with firmware 2.1 and coupled with an Android phone. Workaround was to downgrade Sena firmware to version 1.5 and then turn off the "High Quality A2DP" option. In higher firmware versions 2.0 and 2.1 this option is not available, therefore you can't turn it off.
Sena 10s user here. I have this problem with iphone's map utility, and have not found a workaround, and I had the problem with GoogleMaps. However, with GoogleMaps, you can fix it. Open GoogleMaps, select the menu (three bars in the upper left corner of the search bar), select "settings" near the bottom of the list, then select "navigation" in the settings menu. Check "Play as Bluetooth phone call." That worked for me. Thanks to Jean at Sena support for the suggestion.
BTW, I rarely use iphone maps, anyway, as I find GoogleMaps to be a better tool.
If this works for an Android, you might let others know.

Within Sena, Apps are regarded in my 10s (according to the manual) as a background source, so increase the volume within the Sena Utility of the "Background Volume".
It worked for me, but please feel free to inform me of your result.
Campbell, thanks for the comment. The problem I was addressing was one in which the volume of GoogleMaps instruction started out very quiet, quieter than I could hear, then "ramped up" to normal volume, by which time I would have missed a turn or other instruction. The solution I provided above did solve the problem for me; I did not try the solution you provided, but I'm glad to hear it worked for you. Perhaps one or both of these solutions will work for Android users as well. And perhaps Sena will offer a software patch that solves the issue for everyone.

How many other 10s users are you able to have within a group whilst still being able to hear turn-by-turn voice instructions?
Hi John, I was also one of the ppl having this issue in v2.0. and had to downgrade to v1.5.
I'm now on v2.0.2 and I don't seem to have this issue anymore. Did you try to upgrade to latest firmware version?
