Does sena pi retain intercom pairing?
Does Sena Pi retain intercom pairing after both units are turned off? Instructions are not clear on this and it seems that I have to re-pair both after they are turned off. If the units retain pairing, what is the process for reconnecting.

Hi Ken. Yes, the Pi remembers which headsets it's paired to unless the "Delete All Pairing" option in the Configuration Menu is executed or if a Factory Reset is performed. You can reconnect to the last headset the Pi was paired to by holding down the Minus (-) Button for 1 second.

We have tried this (pushing 1 second after pairing and turning off) several times. Pushing for 1 second never works for us.
We must push for 5 seconds, and go through the full pairing process to get our two Sena PI headsets to connect for comms. (We do not connect our Sena PI's to our phones (iPhone 13 Pro, with latest iOS), as my wife's Sena PI will just start playing Music - can not get it to stop.)

Theodore Bell As that is the case, we recommend performing a Factory Reset on both headsets and make sure that the firmware on both of them is up to date then pair them together again to make sure that they connect to each other properly.

I received an e-mail from Sena tech support a couple of weeks ago and was told to try a "Factory Reset". (I had already checked the firmware, and it was up-to-date.) The Factory Reset did fix the problem of being able to push just once to connect two headsets in intercom mode. So our Pi's working. We are now very happy with our Pi's. Thanks.

Our pi headsets are two years old. We don't use them often, but I seem to remember the intercom between the two units connecting automatically when we turn them on. Today they failed to do that. I have had to try multiple things suggested by Sena, including a full factory reset. Now I have them working, BUT we have to pair them each time we shut them off and turn them back on. They are not retaining the setting. Sad.

Hi Sharon. I have heard some people say the Pi should connect automatically, and apparently it does for some. My wife and I connect directly between headsets and do not pair with our iPhones 13 Pros (even with firmware updating and the latest iOS, that never worked for us). Maybe if we waited longer it would connect automatically.
To connect, (after turning on by pushing both buttons and hearing the "hello, pairing" message), we push the lower button once and hold it down to initiate the connection. That is, we push the lower button, and hold it down until we hear one beep and then let go a second or two later AFTER we hear the second beep (which signals it connected).

Theodore - thank you so much for your response! Yes I finally realized that the intercom pairing did not work if my phone was paired to the headset. Once I unpaired it from the phone completely I was able to do the intercom pairing. I only wish now that the 2 headsets would automatically pair instead of having to do the (-) maneuver each time!
