I have noticed with ambient on it seems to make the whole outside of the cradle into a microphone.  When you rub or tap a finger on the cradle housing it sounds like it is amplified.

An undeserved compliment for sure, but thank you.  Turns out a piece of tape over the hole works as well if not better.  Just take the clamp off and tape the hole over.

I just put a piece of medical waterproof adhesive tape over the hole.  Very easy to do and I think that will keep the water out.
