10U mic not sending voice to phone for voice-to-text. Instead voice to text activates phone's on-board mic.
My phone is Android Google Nexus 6P. My problem is that when I want to tell the phone to navigate to a destination, I have to lift my faceshield and put my face near my phone and shout the request because, the Sena 10U while recognizing the request and thankfully muting the music for that moment, doesn't seem to have control of the mic leaving the onboard mic on the phone to do the listening instead. I love my 10U, but this is a pretty substantial inconvenience. Is this a known issue? Maybe a firmware update would solve my problem? I'm reluctant to update firmware unless there's a good reason. This, however, would be a very good reason. PS, I've tried this on other Androids as well and had the same problem.

Update: I fixed my own problem. Here's how: In the settings of the Android phone
In the settings of the Android phone go to Settings, Google, Search & Now, Voice. There in the "Voice" menu there will be an entry for "Bluetooth headset" which was defaulting to off. Switched it on and my problem was solved.
