First time poster - just installed units..been in box on shelf....
Hi there from NZ!
Bought a pair of 20s's about 20 months ago but unfortunately they've sat (in the box!)on a shelf in the garage since then - much to my shame.
Anyway I have a significant birthday this year so am planning a trip to New Mexico with my 15 year old son and so have finally gotten around to fitting the Sena's.
My questions/problems.....
1. plug the units in to charge and nothing happens - ie no led's light up on side....is this usual? I thought then maybe I need to turn it on? So pushing the jog dial/phone button simultaneously produces nothing either.....
2. Then I thought maybe they need to have a firmware update first, so have downloaded the Device Manager but at 'Device Recognition', I get the error message "Failed to recognise device. Cannot open USB"
Please can anyone help? I'll be devastated if I can't get these to work, as I say brand new in the box but now very close to the end of the 2 year warranty period from purchase date :-(
Cheers and best wishes
Shane

The charge light is very small. Right next to where you plug it in between the plug and the seam.. It's easy to miss seeing it. Starts off red then changes to blue when charged. The led on the side of the unit is not the charge indicator.
If it's been sitting around a long time the battery is probably fully discharged so when you try and update the firmware its likely it will not recognize the unit. Charge up the unit fully then try an update. The units work perfectly fine without an update for normal intercom use. Most of the updates have dealt with minor issues in operation lately.

Thanks Ken
I think I will need to be in contact with SENA Customer support - still no lights.
It never occurred to me that sitting idle would be dettimental to the units.
Cheers and thanks again.
