No Device Recognition so I'm unable to update the software

  NO, they don't. I had this same trouble 1 year ago. Now a year later, I am having the same trouble. This post is 2 years old. They didn't change a thing. German engineering :D

  I know the instructions advise to leave the unit off, but the device manager never recognizes the SC2. I press the power button on the back and it is recognized right away. I can access all of the options and make changes but the firmware will not update on mine. Hope you have better luck getting yours to update....
