Firmware won’t update

Seems to be a common issue. Tried wifi adaptor. Just keeps looping and fails. Tried plugging it directly to my Mac. Fails every time at 10%. Do I need to have an sd card in it to update? It doesn’t say anything in the manual.

  Hello Keith,

  When using the WiFi adapter, it's crucial to follow the recommended procedure outlined in the manual. We do not recommend plugging it into a laptop or desktop computer. Instead, it should be connected to a 5V USB power source. Here's what you should do:

  1. Plug the WiFi adapter into a 5V USB power source.

  2. Perform a fault reset on the WiFi adapter. To do this, locate the small hole on the back of the adapter and press and hold the button inside it for 15 seconds and let go. The three LED lights should turn on and off during this process.

  3. Once the fault reset is complete, you can search for the WiFi network on your phone and connect to it.

  4. Now, plug in your Sena device to the WiFi adapter.

  5. Open the Sena Motorcycle app on your phone, then press the gear icon in the top left corner to start the updating process.

  Please note that the fault reset on the WiFi adapter needs to be done each time you use it. This ensures that it assigns a new WiFi SSID for proper functionality.
