+1. Really annoying, cuts music to tell me it can't pair. I didn't ask it to!

Huh? I have my SMH10's paired as intercom but if I only use one, I get no messages. I have my Samsung Galaxy S3 paired to my helmet as well but get no messages if I don't have the phone on me.

@Carolyn, Are you hearing the message "Intercom failed"? If so, you could be triggering Intercom VOX. Sometimes the wind blowing in to the mic will trigger this. There is a way to disable VOX for intercom in your SMH10. Check the user manual.

right, mbz. I figured that out after I posted the above. Intercom VOX is in in the disabled mode as delivered and I had enabled it when setting up the SMH10. It picks up stray wind/breathing/motor noise as a command to pair. I disabled it and no more annoying pairing attempts.

Same for me Jack... I kept getting it telling me that the intercom had failed to connect when i was riding on my own, thus interrupting my music... But it turned out my headset has the intercom set to VOX... hence if i made a noise or the wind noise activated it, it would try to connect... but couldn't as I was riding on my own, thus it failed... I turned off VOX, problem sorted !!! Hope that helps Catra ?

I bought the SMH 10 Dual pack (for my wife and I) who often ride together.  We're new riders and I'd prefer to use the VOX feature so we don't have to take a hand off the bars so often.  But today I rode single and noticed this a lot - every few seconds when I was over 30 MPH (while not talking).  I have a Shoei RF 1200 full face (a rather quiet helmet).  I'm wondering if there's a way to keep the thing on vox, but turn down the sensitivity of that microphone for single rides?  Is this possible?
