II have found this problem is due to audio feedback in someone's helmet. The sound from the helmet speakers is being picked up by the mic. This especially happens when my buddy lets his boom mic get out of position & closer to the speakers. Drives me crazy!

This is less a problem if the little chin mic for full face helmet is used instead of he boom mic. Also if ear buds like etymotic MC5 are used instead of speakers, the problem disappears. Get the MC5 for about $60 at Amazon.

One more thing: If YOU hear the echo, it is NOT your helmet/mic that is causing the problem. The user who is causing the problem never hears an echo of their own voice!

Hi! Maybe what you noticed is true, but I think it's a different problem.

I'm quite sure that what we ear (both me and my passenger) from the speakers comes after few milliseconds, but there are no feedback nor echo (the words are not repeated).

Even if I'm wrong, I couldn't follow your suggestions because we must use the wired boom mic with our modular helmets, and in Italy ear buds are forbidden while riding...

    Thanks anyway for your reply!

Agreed with Nkern. Move the mic as close as possible to the mouth, get the person to speak a little softer, and turning off the Sidetone feature are ways you can eliminate the echo if you're using the open speakers that come with the 20S.

We already have the microphones touching the mouth, and the Sidetone disable.
I teached my passenger to speak loudly, in order to optimize the signal/noise ratio. I don't think is a good idea tell him to talk softer...

I'm quite sure that it isn't a feedback or echo, nor the passenger voice captured also by my microphone.
The bluetooth transmission has a "lag" (maybe the word "delay" was confusing, I've modified the title).

It isn't a big deal, we have no problems while riding, is noticeable only at very low speeds or waiting at the traffic light.
But my old bluetooth intercom was flawless on this aspect.

Anyway, since it seems I'm the only one complaining, I'm going to do a test and shoot a video.
    Thanks for the interest!

Try plugging in in-ear earphones and using those. Am betting that the delay goes away. You may not want to use earphones, but this test will reveal that the delay effect is caused by acoustic feedback, as others have stated.
