Volume Mix GPS & Music on SRL-MESH
Hi - what would be great is if, when playing music via my phone (or SatNav - a Garmin Zumo XT), when the SatNav sends a voice command, one could choose if it mixes/cuts out the music audio. The SRL-MESH currently completely cuts out the music if the SatNav sends a voice command (or any other kind of prompt), which is really annoying. I sort of understand having the prompt when on the open road (when there are few interruptions) but through town one has to turn off either the music or SatNav as it keeps cutting out.
Easy feature to enable, one would have thought?

You can enable audio multitasking on the Sena app on your mobile device. This will lower the music whenever a prompt comes in, since the GPS voice plays through a 'phone call' and not through media on the BT chip.
Bluetooth Intercom Audio Multitasking is set to disabled by default. With Audio Multitasking enabled, you can engage in intercom conversations while concurrently enjoying music, FM radio, or GPS instructions. The mixed audio plays in the background at a lowered volume during intercom discussions, returning to its regular volume once the conversation concludes. The Mesh Intercom Audio Multitasking feature is consistently active. -
Hi Alex, thanks for the reply! I'll just explain my setup a bit more as enabling audio multitasking doesn't have the desired effect. I have my phone connected to the Sena & the Zumo XT connected to the Sena. I play music from the phone to the Sena and then start the navigation with instructions coming through to the Sena. Even with multitasking turned on, the nav instructions completely cuts out the music. Indeed, even button presses on the XT cut out the music. There is no overlay at all. What I'd like to happen is the music volume to drop slightly, or even better, not change at all. I've been back to the store and also read many other user comments and my understanding is that the GPS instructions will always overide the music by design?

Because the GPS Voice uses HFP (Hands-Free Profile), it takes priority over media (music).
If you were using GPS via your phone, then there wouldn't be any issues; you would need to enable GPS-via-phone in the GPS app settings. This then separates the voice prompts from the media chip and routes them to the phone chip, allowing audio multitasking to lower the music volume as GPS prompts are made.
But yeah, to answer the question, since ZUMO XT takes priority due via HFP, it will override the Media (music).

Thanks - so is there a feature request I can make that would allow the above not to happen or is there nothing Sena can do due to the fact that th Zumo XT uses HFP?
Last question - pairing the Zumo in phone mode rather than GPS mode wouldn't make a difference either?

I have the exact same problem and no matter how the GPS is paired it cuts everything. My old10U did not do this so perhaps you can explain why the newer model is worse than the older model? New models should be better but not in this case.
