No Audible Response
I recently bought a new Sena Impulse helmet that was already two years old(according to the DOM label) when I received it via an Amazon purchase. After great difficulty I followed advice from a post here and succeeded in getting firmware version 1.2.2. The comm system seems to work but I have no audible response such as, "hello" when I turn the helmet on or "goodbye" when turning it off and no other audible responses which I had before the update. How to I restore the audible responses?

Any solution as I've got the same issue?

Try a reset. Sena says use a paperclip but the smallest paperclip on the planet will not fit into the reset hole behind the charge port. I used a tiny straight pin from my wife's sewing basket, a small sewing needle would work too. I had to use instructions from a forum member(I have tried to find his post but no luck finding it for you)in order to connect to the Sena device manager online. I had to try several times before I could get the update, very confusing, several stages involved as I recall, very poorly done by Sena. None of the 4 or 5 ways Sena says can be used to get the update worked for me. Somehow I finally got an update, everything seems to work accept voice command has never worked for me. I have audible feedback, I have connection to my phone and mp3 player for music, I have the FM radio, etc. Good stuff but very disappointed in the difficulty with firmware updating.
PS: Found my print out on a way to connect my helmet to the Sena online device manager, if you have trouble via the ways Sena gives in the manual. Turn on helmet, use cable to connect to your computer, get Sena device manager online, press the "-" button on your helmet for 10 seconds or until you get a white light, then click the "next" button twice on the device manager page, then it may take a while but eventually you should be able to follow the steps given there to get the firmware upgrade.

Thanks Vance. Totally agree, it's not been easy! I found the same solution for doing the firmware update the other day after a good few hours but after the update I lost the audible feedback. After a few more hours today, I decided to download and re-apply the firmware and that seems to have done the trick. I've not tested everything but will test it over the weekend. Thanks for your response.

You are very welcome for what little I could offer. I like the Impulse helmet despite what my riding buddies say about it, compared to the 1500 to 2000 plus bucks they spend on their Shoei's and Schubert's and Arai's, etc. For years I have had very good experience with Sena units that attach to the side of my helmets. So, when I saw this modular Impulse with a built-in Comm system I jumped on it. Well, after spending several painful weeks trying to make it work I am mostly satisfied but very disappointed with Sena over several problems. The comm system does not respond to my voice commands. Very bummed about that. Still can't get over their totally wrong sizing chart which said I needed a Large size. Not even close to the XXL I eventually got that fits very well. Support people at Sena are very nice, courteous but do not seem to have a freaking clue or insight about the problems customers have to deal with and how to help us. So, happy to hear you are making progress. I suspect we are on a long bumpy road but we can consider ourselves pioneers paving the way for others. :)

After updating my Sena Impulse helmet firmware to version 1.2.2 via Baddiehub, I've noticed the absence of audible responses like "hello" and "goodbye" upon powering on or off. To restore these features, try resetting the helmet to factory settings through the Sena app or by holding down the reset button for a few seconds. If the issue persists, contacting Sena customer support for further assistance may be necessary.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sena firmware update! It sounds like a frustrating process, especially when it involves multiple attempts. I had a similar experience with tech updates recently, which made me appreciate the simpler things, like crafting heartfelt messages. Speaking of which, I was working on https://birthdaywishinmarathi.com/ around the same time, which helped me take a break from all the tech hassle. If anyone else has tips for smooth updates or unique ways to celebrate special occasions, I’d love to hear them!

I’ve run into the 'No Audible Response' issue too, and I know how annoying it can be, especially on devices where you rely on audio feedback. This reminded me of the Free Government Tablet program I came across recently, which could be really helpful for those who need affordable access to technology. Has anyone here tried using a tablet from this program, and if so, did you experience any similar audio issues?

If there’s no audible response, check volume settings, connections, and test with another device. Update drivers, restart, or inspect for hardware issues. For more tips, visit Baddiehuh.
