How to remove physical fastening pin for Stryker helmet visor?

Hello, which is the function of the screwed pin on the helmet front to fix the visor so that it cannot be opened without heavy force? Thanks!

  Did you ever fix this?  Just got a Stryker and having the same problem - I can't open it with my gloves on  :/
  
  Thinking of just grinding down the pin slightly so it can open and close a bit easier.
