You need to check your Siri settings on your iPhone to ensure it is set to work while the phone is locked or face down.

After adjusting the settings, test it with your phone unlocked, and make sure it is properly paired via phone pairing.

Set up Siri to recognize your voice

    1. Go to Settings.

    2. Tap Apple Intelligence & Siri > Talk & Type to Siri, or Siri > Talk & Type to Siri.

    3. Turn off Listen for "Siri" or "Hey Siri," then turn it back on.

    4. When the Siri setup screen appears, tap Continue.

    5. Say each command that you see on your screen.

    6. Tap Done.

Thank you, Alex. I had already checked everything but I don't think it's a problem with my configuration on the iPhone because on other devices I have no problem. I have another Intercom from another brand that works perfectly. Can it be some configuration of the sena?

Sena broke the Siri functionality recently with a firmware update. It was working fine until I updated my SRL-MESH to firmware v1.6. Now activating Siri via "Hey Siri" does not work. To make matters worse, there's no quick button to activate it like other Sena models. The physical button activation on the SRL is holding the center button for 3 full seconds. Holding it slightly less than 3 seconds won't work because it will instead stop/start the music or attempt an intercom call. Holding it slightly longer than 3 seconds will go into configuration mode. It's a complete disaster for a commuting rider who relies on Siri for the majority of communication and smartphone functions. Not to mention how extremely risky it is to keep your hand off the handlebars for that long in traffic or during legal lane splitting/filtering.

Sena is aware of this problem but are extremely nonchalant about the fix. They confirmed that they broke it but they don't care enough to provide a solid ETA for the fix. This is so unlike Sena. I'm extremely disappointed.

It never worked for me, neither with the previous update nor with this one, I'm not able to activate Siri more than one out of every 20 times I try. For the same security issue that Nico comments on the impossibility of activating it manually, I had to resort to spending more money on an RC4. Instead of fixing it, they will now release a new SLR3-X version pretending that we are all going to fill their pockets. I will never buy Seña again, it has been the first and the last. With my previous Cardo, much cheaper no problem. It's a shame that Shoei chooses this company for its integrated intercoms and doesn't do anything about it with the dissatisfaction of its users caused by Seña.

Same Siri problem here—hoping for an update (or even a downgrade) soon.

This is the crazy part. They're not even offering the downgrade to give us back this important functionality. No downgrade, no ETA for the fix, nothing but "we're aware of it and we'll fix it at some point"

Make sure you get heard. Contact support!

This is exactly the type of bad customer service experience that will make me think twice before I recommend a Sena product to someone else in the future.

Absolute trash. For what we pay for this stuff, it's unacceptable. Shame on Shoei for not putting pressure on them to fix it as well when it's a dedicated unit to a stupidly expensive helmet. Voice commands are a huge safety feature for riders, this pretty much ensures never buying another product from Sena.

My SLR3 is on firmware version 1.4.1 and this change of setting on my iPhone 13 made Hey Sirir work smoothly:

In Settings, tap Accessibility > Siri.
Use Siri when iPhone is covered or face down: Turn on Always Listen for “Hey Siri.”

I hope this resolves the issue for the rest of you as well.
