Schuberth SC2 the connection is constantly dropping.
Hello; I have a Schuberth S3 helmet and a Schuberth SC2 intercom. I am constantly experiencing disconnections on my SC2 intercom. When I try it out, there is no disconnection problem, but when I put it on my head and set off, when I encounter wind resistance or when I shake my head to keep the rhythm of the music, or to get it, the Bluetooth connection constantly disconnects and reconnects. The bridge disconnects 3 or 4 times in about 1 minute. I cannot use the SC2.

It sounds like your SC2 intercom may be experiencing connectivity issues due to physical movement or pressure changes while riding. Here are some possible reasons and solutions for this issue:
1. Check the Mounting and Cable Connections
- Inspect the SC2 unit’s position on the helmet. Ensure it’s securely attached and that there’s no excessive play or looseness. Sometimes, vibration or wind resistance can loosen a connection.
- Examine the connector pins and any cabling inside the helmet. Occasionally, if a connection isn’t fully seated, slight movement can cause brief disconnections.
2. Bluetooth Device Interference
- Reduce the number of Bluetooth connections in use, especially when testing. Try connecting only your SC2 to your phone or GPS device, leaving out other devices temporarily.
- Turn off unnecessary Bluetooth devices nearby, such as other riders’ communicators or smartwatches, to ensure your SC2 has a clear signal.
3. Firmware Update for SC2
- Make sure your SC2 intercom has the latest firmware, as updates often fix stability issues and improve connectivity.
- Check for updates through the Schuberth or Sena Device Manager app on your computer. Restart the SC2 after updating to refresh the connection.
4. Try a Low-Profile Bluetooth Mode
- Switch to a “low-power” or less-intensive Bluetooth mode if available in your SC2 settings. Sometimes, reducing connection demand can make it more resistant to disruption when experiencing head movement or wind pressure.
5. Resetting the Device
- Perform a factory reset on the SC2 intercom to clear any cached connection issues. Be sure to re-pair it with your primary device afterward to establish a fresh connection.
If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Schuberth’s support team. Since this disconnection occurs specifically when wearing the helmet, it may be related to internal wiring or the design of the SC2, in which case, a repair or replacement might be necessary.

I completely understand your frustration with the disconnections on your Schuberth SC2 intercom; I experienced the same issue. Initially, it seemed to work perfectly when I tested it without my helmet, but once I put it on and hit the road, the Bluetooth connection would frequently drop, especially when encountering wind resistance or shaking my head to the rhythm of the music. It was incredibly annoying to have the intercom disconnect multiple times within just a minute. To address this, I found a few steps that helped alleviate the problem: ensuring that the SC2 was securely installed in my helmet, updating the firmware using the SCHUBERTH Device Manager, and adjusting the microphone placement for optimal performance. Additionally, I tried to reduce wind noise by using a windscreen, merchant services and resetting Bluetooth connections to refresh them. Checking battery levels was also crucial, as low power can lead to connectivity issues. Riding should be an enjoyable experience, and having reliable communication gear is essential for that!

I totally get how frustrating that must be. You’re expecting seamless music or communication while riding, and instead, the SC2 keeps cutting out—especially when you’re shaking your head or dealing with wind resistance. It sounds like the Bluetooth signal might be struggling with interference caused by the helmet’s materials or the way the intercom is mounted.
Balancing practical needs with personal flair, much like finding the perfect helmet fit, is key. Just like your SC2 intercom is designed for connection on the go, a well-designed space can create that same sense of connection and flow when you’re at home.0 -
