50r - No sound from mic
I bought a used 50r. It pairs fine and i can hear the others as clear as a bell. However they cannot hear me at all. I have tried both the boom and the wired mic with no success.
Is there some sort of pickup volume that needs adjusting? Or does the mic sound faulty (strange both mics are the same). Worried the unit could be faulty.

i posted 8 days ago and not one person has replied. Is this forum dead? Is there a better one that can be used to get advice and guidance on my 50r?

New mic installed and still no one can hear me. I guess the unit is dead. Anyone got any ideas?

The issue might be 7 brew with the radio’s microphone input or settings rather than the mics themselves. First, check if there’s a mic gain or volume setting in the radio’s menu that needs adjusting sometimes it’s set too low. If that doesn’t work, inspect the microphone jack for dirt or damage, as that can cause connection issues.
Hope! it would be helpful.0 -
Appreciate the response daldas.
Unfortunately I have already set the mic gain to max and checked all cables and connectors. Also checked the pins to see if they were broken or bent.
So you know if it's possible to replace the cables that come from the unit.

Hi Ray,
- does the micro not work only in intercom connections or also when you try to make a phone call ?
- did you check the micro plug and the wire between plug and main unit ?0 -
Hi Raphael
the mic does not work at all, tested in mesh and BT coms plus telephone calls.
I have checked all the cables and connectors and all seem fine. All i can think of now is a connection to the unit or the unit itself. It is very strange as i can hear everything fine when connected with coms, phone calls or media.

Do you have an opportunity to test your micros with another main unit ? Maybe in a service point ...

no i dont as i dont know anyone else with the same Sena, hoever as i have tried 3 mics, one being new i am pretty sure one of them must be working

I also think, than one of the micros should be ok ...
Did you check if the micro is plugged the right side up ? I mean, are arrows on the micro connector aligned correct ?

of course i did, unless you really force it, its very difficult to plug it in the wrong way round

/.../ its very difficult to plug it in the wrong way round
I know but i only want to be sure ... I have no more ideas ... Maybe unscrewing the main unit case and check if the wire of the micro is mounted properly and doesn't have any (cable) break's ...
I would also fill a support request to see if Sena can help you or maybe point you to a service point ...
