My model is a “Sena R2 Evo” and I am experiencing the same issue.
I totally agree that I would like to be able to downgrade.
In addition to that, I would like to see the latest firmware with the tail lights working properly released soon, because Mesh 3.0 support is very attractive.0 -
I have exactly the same problem with my EVO R1, and my wife has the same problem.

I have exactly the same problem with my EVO M1. Just updated to 2.2 and when I press the sena button or try to operate light in the app it switches the helmet off.

I just got my R1 EVO bike helmet. I updated to 2.2 firmware and press the light tab then press lights and get the error message "Device Disconnected - Please ensure that your device is powered on and connected to your smartphone." Glad to find out the update is disconnecting the helmet intercom and the lights do not function. Hope a Sena support rep looks at this forum.

I just purchased 8 new R1 EVO and updated all of them to 2.2 and my (6) older R1 EVO. Now none of them have a light, and if you attempt to turn on the light the helmet crashes and turns off. I NEED TO BE ABLE TO FLASH THEM ALL BACK TO THE OLDER FIRMWARE ASAP.

Same situation here. My wife and I purchased 2 M1 EVO helmets yesterday, did the firmware update, and everything works except the rear tail light. If you touch the tail light button, it turns the helmet off. Im hoping there will be a patch rather quick

FYI, it also breaks compatibility with all MESH helmets running older firmware. v2.2 only works with v2.2 helmets! I've provided detailed troubleshooting and testing results to them on another ticket. They keep closing it marking it resolved with no comments. So now I have to return 8 helmets and buy 8 replacements, which I won't update to v2.2 this time!

Im hopoing SENA sees these, and will have a patch soon. FYI if youre upgrading the firmware. Besides v2.2, mine says image 5. I checked again yesterday, just hoping for an image 6. Im guessing that will indicate the fix

i found a solution to this problem. you need to down grade your version to 2.0.7 again. but you need to get the older version of the sena software that can choose the file you want to put into the helmet.
if you want i have the older version of the software for the windows and older version for the helmet
you can leave your email here then il email you

Sena is the worst experience I ever had with product support. Next time I will simply buy a chinese product, which gives me the same level of support. Very disappointed.

Es gibt ein Update angeblich soll das helfen, erst Sena Device Manager neu installieren und dann das Update ziehe. Lt support die Lösung, leider hat es bei mir nicht funktioniert.
