I had exactly the same issue today. On the outward trip it switched off the Sena the instant the TomTom tried to do an announcement. On the return leg, I didn't connect the TomTom, it worked fine.

    Same here.

Every time i turn on my rider 550 and it gives instructions  the st1 shuts down.

Not even with the normal goodbye.

Had my first st1 replaced by the reseller but the problem persists.

I opend a supportticket and hope sena will reply quickly.

How did you connnect your navigation?

Mine is on the phone 2 channel, as the reseller suggested.

My friend updated his Tom Tom and the problem went away. Connect it as GPS.

I have just updated two TOMTOM Riders (400 & 450) to the latest firmware. I have a new Sena RT1, updated the firmware on that too and it fails in the same way described by Rene Van Bilsen. Looses connection to the headset and powers off without warning or announcement.

I still have the same problem.

And I friend of me also experiences the exact same issue.

I contacted Sena and tried all kinds off different settings but nothing helps.

Sena is willing to replace the st1 but this is already my second unit.

And I can't believe it is a hardware problem,  in my opinion it is software related.

I will update this post if I have more info.

    It's definitely a software problem.

It was working fine prior to an update. Not sure which update, but one of them definitely caused the issue.

I think the problem is in the latest update 2.4.

I spoken to someone and he has two st1's .

One running on 2.2.2 with no problems and one running on 2.4 with the same problems as I have.

Seems to me that there lies the problem.

Does anybody know how too get back too the old firmware version?

I agree that it is software (or firmware). I took the RT1 back to the shop last week and demonstrated to the staff that the RT1 did not work with the TomTom. We then tried a more expensive Sena 50R and that worked fine, so I paid the extra and took the 50R. I now find that does not respond to Sena voice commands.

I got the firmware 2.2.2 from Sena and now my problem is solved.

My tomtom gives instructions without the Sena shutting down.

If someone would like to have the old firmware just give me your email and I will sent it over.
