Harley Davidson Stamped Boom Audio 30K Firmware v3.0.1update (Mesh 2)
I received an email from SENA today introducing the 50R and 50S and the firmware update for all MESH capable devices as well as an option to upgrade to the 50R or 50S models for US owners only. I went to the HD site for firmware update and there is no new update available for my Boom Audio 30K only the v 2.2 version which I already have. I tried the SENA 30K app and it shows firmware v3.0.1 but when the app connects to my Boom Audio 30K it switches to current version 2.2 and installed version is 2.2 and, doesn't allow me to update to v3.0.1.
2 questions.
1. Will Canadian owners of Sena 30K models (including Boom Audio 30K) be offered an upgrade, and if so, when?
2. Why isn't the v3.0.1 firmware upgrade available for Boom Audio 30K, when can I expect it?

I too would like to update my Boom Audio 30k ti V3.0.1

Same problem here. I bought a 50s thinking it would mesh with my hubby's & other riding buddies HD branded 30s. Now I can only use bluetooth to connect with them. Also cannot have as many saved bluetooth connections as I did with my 20. Very disappointed with Sena.

Yep been dealing with the Harley/SENA issues for weeks now. I've been told Harley is still testing the MESH 2.0 firmware because it needs to sync with the WHIM (Wireless interface module). And, BTW you can't just turn off the microphone setting in the Harley system like you can using the Sena 30k non OEM brand since the WHIM using a different firmware that doesn't allow this. Been to Harley a couple of times differ3ent techs there too.
I can't talk using MESH with any friends that updated their non OEM Sena 30K since they updated on Sena's site. And, I find the MESH 1.0 firmware is very buggy, noisy and has lousy range and connection issues which is why I'm sure SENA upgraded it to 2.0
The issue is yes I can use Bluetooth but once I have 2 people connected on Bluetooth my Apple Carplay shuts off on my Harley CVO that came preinstalled with the bike. It must connect to the Harley branded 30k they supplied with the purchase of the 2020 CVO I bought. I prefer using the apps for navigation on my iPhone like: Google, Apple and Waze. The SENA tech told me it's because SENA only has one Bluetooth antenna in their product. I don't think that's accurate otherwise I wouldn't be able to talk to one person and still use Carplay. Someone correct me if I'm wrong cause I don't pretend to be an expert on Bluetooth but can't they connect to like over 200 items they use software not more antennas to do this. I have a watch, air pods and they work just fine.
I find the Harley map system on the 2020 CVO to be inferior in many ways to my previous Harley's. It won't allow me to see secondary roads unless I'm zoomed in a lot. Not cool when you are trying new twisty roads and can;t see if they go through to main roads or hit dead ends etc.
This isn't like the previous versions of the Harley maps I had on my 2018 and earlier models before Harley switched vendors for their system. Plus it has even taken me to unpaved roads when programing not to.
Okay I'm done venting lol. Anyone know when Harley's OEM version of the 30k MESH 2.0 is being released to be downloaded?

So, 5 months have passed since I started this post and still no 30K firmware update for Harley stamped Boom Audio 30K. After a complaint to Sena, they said 4 months ago, it would be a couple of weeks as the firmware for the Harley stamped models was in testing. Called Harley Customer care last week and they have no idea what is going on. I asked to speak to someone up the chain of command and was told, there is no one and that the person I was speaking to was the Coal Face and he had no idea. So, still no resolution from either Sena or Harley on the Boom Audio 30K. Seems like no customer support from Sena or HD on this, that, is poor customer support.

Echo above. I just purchased Sena HD speakers to replace torn foam around the speakers on original item (which Sena don't provide replacement for). Was advised by Sena support to purchase the HD speakers, now - I can't update firmware using Boom Audio Device Manager needed for Harley Davidson Sena 30k - as it says it's corrupt - so a version of the firmware to suit the Boom Audio is required. Waiting on customer support to confirm position now. No looking hopeful at present however - given how long you guys have waited. gutted as I can't enable the HD speakers without the latest firmware! Wasted a lot of money just to initially replace the foam speaker coverings for an updated speaker setup I can't use!! Not happy.

Add my name to the list. Our family has 2 Sena 30k units and 2 HD Boom! 30k units. We really wish we could update the HD units. I did try to install the Sena firmware onto the Boom unit, but it didn't work.
Why hasn't anyone from Sena responded here yet?

I really don’t believe that they are interested. The date of the day I created this post was 01 May 2020.....7 months and not one reply from Sena. Great customer support Sena.

For those with the Harley Stamped Boom Audio 30K and following this article, I was just able to update my Harley Stamped Boom Audio 30K with firmware version 3.1. This happened in a round about way as I wasn't notified of the firmware update. Rather, I ran the Boom Audio Bluetooth Device Manager and it told me that the Device Manager I was running (v1.5) was out of date and that v1.7 was available. I installed that and when it was completed, I connected my Harley Stamped Boom Audio 30K it immediately told me that a newer version of the firmware was available. The display showed I currently had v2.2 and that 3.1 was going to be installed. I accepted the update and when it was complete it showed v3.1 was installed. I checked the settings and it has a setting for the new HD Speakers, as well as a few others I've not noticed before. After the install was completed I mounted it on my helmet and turned it on. Once powered up, I put up the MESH antenna and pushed the MESH button. The response was MESH On, Open MESH, channel 1. So it looks like us Harley Stamped Boom Audio 30K owners are now supported, albeit, 11 months later. Now I have to test it out and see if I can communicate with my riding buddies who have Non-Harley Stamped 30K devices, with MESH. Fingers crossed.

Has anyone confirmed if this is MESH 2.0? I updated to 3.1, but I can't find any info stating this.

Yes, when you raise the MESH antenna and turn on MESH, you should hear “MESH On, Open MESH, channel 1. My 30K has been updated for a while and MESH is all my riding buddies and I use with a mix of both H-D Stamped and non-H-D SENA 30k

Yes Jason as Dave mentioned above the update worked for my Harley stamped 30K unit too. I also updated my other SENA 30K unit (non H-D) and a friends unit. I find it curious that we had Dave not of posted the info in the first place and the detailed info on how to update we would all still be waiting to someone from SENA to get back to us. Big thanks to Dave! The update is a huge improvement in both better sound (no static) and distance from the Mesh 1.0 firmware.
Also I update to the hi def speakers ($45.00) and they are a huge improvement in sound. NOTE: make sure you enable them in the set up by checking the box after you do the firmware update. I actually prefer listening to my music through them rather than the Harley speakers on my 2020 Limited CVO.0
