50S and double low-tone beeps with wind noise
Hi all,
This might come in useful if any of you have this issue...
I'm running a 50S with v1.0.3 firmware.
Recently when out and about listening to music, GPS etc I found I was getting a double low-tone beep every few seconds, more frequently at higher speeds, which would cease when I stop at traffic lights etc and start again almost as soon as I moved off.
I trawled the User Guide, this Community forum and the interweb generally without finding similar issues or resolution.
In the process of fault finding one night when I was out delivering blood for local hospitals, I noticed that when in motion, if I moved my head to look up it happens more, equally when I look down is stops or is less frequent. At first I thought I was perhaps pushing a button somehow with my jacket collar but nothing near the unit.
By moving mic further up, to tip of my nose and behind visor it stops almost completey. Worth pointing out here that I ride a flip-up helmet, most of the time open, so of course wind noise is more than a full-face, although I ride a ST1300 with oversize screen so nothing like as noisy as an unfaired bike would be!
So now to home mode fault finding, walking around indoors with helmet on trying to replicate the issue (I'm sure delivery guy thought I was mad when he came to door with a parcel!!) and sure enough, if I remove cover from mic and blow into it, or make any loud noises it double beeps.
Long story short (sorry this is quite long, isn't it), after a lengthy on-line support chat and trying various settings (one thoery was Group Mesh failed to connect error beep, but Mesh was disabled) and a Fault Reset wthout success, I tried a Factory Reset as a last resort before rolling back firmware to 1.0.2.
In doing so lost all settings and of course pairings - D'Oh!!
On re-pairing everything, it seems problem solved!! No matter how much I blow, shout etc into mic the beeping does not happen, admittedly not tried it on the open road yet but pretty confident issue has gone for now.
Seems there's a bug in the current firmware causing this, Sena now adding this to list of issues to be looked at for next release.
Hope that helps anyone else out there with same/similar issue!!
RIDE SAFE!!

We went from the 30k to the 50S and the wind/background noise is terrible on the 50S, we switched back to the 30k main unit and the noise is gone. We also have upgraded the FW to 1.0.3 and it did not make any changes to the noise, looks like maybe a reset is in order.

Same thing is happening to me. Listening to music, everything is fine until I hit freeway speeds, then double beep, and "Intercom Failed, try again later"- over and over and over..... makes the unit useless as I shut it off in frustration,
Opened a support ticket, we'll see what they say.

Probably the wind noise activate the intercom.
What happens, if you deactivate "Vox-Sprechanlage" (Bluetooth-Intercom Settings)?

Hi, I have just got this unit and updated it to the latest firmware and I am getting this exact issue! Does anyone know if this got bottomed out?

Same problem with a SRL-Mesh and latest firmware.

I’m having the exact same issue as originally described using version 1.3.1 So it's still not fixed. Double beep and cuts music at about 50 mph open face helmet.

Let me add myself to this list of frustration. I have a 50S and freewire. If I don't let the freewire bind, no problem. Once I bind the freewire I get the low-tone double beep every few seconds. Seems to happen over 50 mph like David says. Open face helmet too. But this only started happening after 4 months of use. I know the 50S has been updated. I was trying to comprehend why it was speed related. I never suspected wind noise. But why only with the freewire?

Weighing in, I ride an open-face helmet, and about 2 months ago moved from cardo to Sena (50s) to be compatible with my son. When I ride at 20 km/p I too get this regular beep every few seconds, which stops when at traffic lights. it seems like the intercom (which is off) was constantly trying to connect, Mic sensitivity is set to 3. The beeping happens with and without music playing, but doesn't on bluetooth intercom mode. Really annoying, I desperately need a fix.

Sounds like we are all having the same issues. The beeping is frustrating especially when trying to communicate. I also am not able to shut off side tones and when I called support I was told to do a hard restart which I did several times with no resolve. Think I’m going to look for a different system

Flosurfer33, I hope you don't give up because I eventually got support from Sena that cured the problem. I use a 50s with Freewire. They had me bind the Freewire as a second bind. When I originally set it up, I had done it a different way and it worked. The 50s would report {phone connected" and then "media connected". Media connected was a reference to the Freewire. I could say Hey Siri and the phone would respond, but at some point I started having the problems that brought me here. After binding as they instructed, I would simply here a single beep, following "phone connected". This now meant that the 50s was connected to the Freewire. It never said "media connected" after that, but it never failed. A further difference was that Hey Siri would not work anymore. I have to use the phone button on the 50s. The 50s would respond with a high tone and then a low tone. After the low tone I could give a command like "what is my location". I don't like using he phone button as much as saying Hey Siri because sometimes my left hand isn't free, but I got used to it.
My point to you is that my setup is now 100% reliable and works that same way every time. Because I use a Feewire my setup may be more complicated than most. I have all my motorcycle audio (AM/FM, CD, CB radio) work through my Sena 50s, in addition to being able to send and receive phone calls, listen to and initiate text messages, and the function of Hey Siri (although I don't have to say Hey Siri). I get Waze alerts as long as I have the Waze App running. And this is all on a 2012 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic Electra Glide with no Bluetooth capability. Sena had given me capability that has stunned all my riding mates who never thought this was possible on a 13 year old dinosaur of a motorcycle. Keep trying. It's good stuff.

@Flosurfer33 Yes I moved from Cardo to Sena because With HD it was the only option and have been very disappointed. It's just Sub-Par. I'm going back to Cardo now that I don't need to connect to a WHIM.
