Sena S20 Evo - Contact noices and stumble

My Sena S20 worked for a few years now without any problems. I changed my helmet recently. Now the Sena is a bit in the back of the helmet. Since I attached it at the new one, the connection to other Senas is really cracky, I have contact noice and the connection is patchy. Sometimes I just understand a few words, sometimes nothing at all. The musicplay isn't as smooth, as it was on the old helmet.

In my opinion, the attachement is alright, the Sena fits. Could it be, that the connection is that bad because the Sena is more in the back of my helmet, then it was before? What can I do to improve the signal?

  It could be the speaker wires.  If you have a pair of earbuds that work, plug them in to the aux out plug and see if the problem persists.  If not, then likely a speaker wire problem.
