The ability you describe is available with mesh units.  It was the reason why mesh was developed due to the limitations of multi-rider connections with the 20s and other units.

With multiple intercoms tied together the group needs to ride in the order the group was set up.  Think daisy chain - if one rider exchanges places in a ride it can cause an inadvertent disconnection of one or more riders in the group.

So I don’t see a clear yes/no answer, but it sounds like the sena20 units do NOT automatically reconnect? Is that correct? So is the correct procedure after a disconnect to power of the units, power them back on and restart the group intercom? Or is there a simpler way to re-establish the group intercom? We do have the pairing order matching the order that we ride in order to maximize the connectivity (daisy chain) but it’s a real nuisance to power off the unit and power it back on just to re-establish another group intercom.

That's been my experience with multiple riders along with many other forum postings by folks.  I've only had an auto reconnect with two riders when out of range.  You should be able to stop the beeping by pressing the jog dial once which disconnects the intercom.

You can then try and restart the group intercom once you have stopped the beeping.

Thanks Ken, I have tried pushing the jog dial, but it doesn’t stop the beeping, I even held in the group intercom button for 5 seconds (to exit group intercom mode) and it says group intercom and tries to re-establish the group intercom, but with the beeps still being present. It never manages to reestablish the group intercom. The only way I found to stop the beeping is to power off the unit and then turn it back on and hold the group intercom button in again for 5 seconds to start a new group intercom.

I agree, a clunky solution. Then again, maybe just try keep everyone together better? Or with unlimited funds you could go with Sena or Cardo mesh units (just kidding!)

One last thing you may try since you did a firmware update. On all units do a factory reset and a fault reset, then re-pair all the units back again.  May help with the gremlins you're experiencing.

Thanks, I will dig out the manual and find out how to do the 2 resets.

also if you have a phone paired you should delete the pairing on the phone and then re-pair it to the 20s

I've been using Sena 20S Evo units for a few years now, and I've experienced the same auto reconnect issue that you're describing. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it, but I haven't found a solution yet.

I've seen a few other people post about this issue online, but I haven't seen an official response from Sena yet. I'm hoping that they'll release a firmware update that fixes this problem soon.

In the meantime, the only way I've found to get the intercom to reconnect automatically is to restart both units. This is obviously not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

I'm also interested in trying out the Remini Photo Enhancer app. I've heard great things about it, and I'm hoping that it will be able to improve the quality of some of my old photos. https://reminiapk.io

Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sena 20S Evo units. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's having this problem.
